The hour was far, far past my bedtime in 1970 when my brothers and I would sneak out,
turn on our old black and white Zenith television, and scare ourselves sleepless with
Rod Searling’s The Night Gallery. I was six years old and was laying the foundation for
my love of those things that are, shall we say, on the darker side of normal. My favorite
comic books became House of Mystery, House of Secrets, Creepy, Eerie, and all their ilk. In
my teenage years I added Famous Monsters of Filmland, and Fangoria, and ultimately the
ceiling was shattered when my older brother gave me a collection of Victorian horror
and cemented forever my desire to sit under a single dim lamp with a volume of horror
stories making myself jump at the slightest noise.
Out of this fertile soil grew Shadow Hour, the latest in a long tradition of plays that I’ve
written and directed that include The Death of Edgar Allan Poe, The Witch of Greythorn,
The Daemon of Darby Castle, and many many others. I am hugely grateful to my design
team Dawn Johnson and Wayne Mitchell who understand being creepy in all the best
ways. I want to send lots of love to this amazing cast and crew, and to my sweet wife Erin
who is pretty tolerant of having a weirdo around the house.
Lastly, thanks to you, our audience whose kind attention and patronage makes this
whole thing possible. I hope you’ll enjoy walking with us out of the light and into the
shadow.

Among the Shadows
Juliana Andrew - Sister Eliza
Juliana is a sophomore at East High. She enjoys reading & writing, playing piano, singing Les Mis
songs, waterfalls and being an auntie to her brand new nephew, Luke! This is her second show
with TBA, her first also being Shadow Hour during the 2013 Summer Performing Arts Academy.
Juliana hopes to never find out what awaits her in the shadows.
Aaron Bell - Edmund
Aaron is extremely excited to be acting in another TBA Halloween production. You may also have
seen him onstage at Anchorage Community Theater (Rand Higbee’s At Home with the Clarks)
and at various high schools. Aaron is often busy backstage building & designing sets. This is his
encore performance of Edmund in Shadow Hour, having premiered the role during TBA’s 2013
Summer Performing Arts Academy.
Tyler Browning - Mr. David Block
Tyler is excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity to portray his role model, David Block.
You may recently have seen him onstage as Lurvy in Charlotte’s Web, Mendel in Fiddler on the
Roof, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come in A Christmas Carol. Tyler also works and teaches
for TBA during the Summer Performing Arts Academy. What awaits him in the shadows? David
Block.
Amanda Conley - Celeste
This is Amanda’s fourth show with TBA and she’s thrilled to be cast for the second time in Shadow
Hour, having appeared in the SPAA production. Amanda was most recently in TBA’s production
of Much Ado About Nothing and played the title role in AFAA’s Emma. A senior at Anchorage
Christian School, she is also a competitive ballroom dancer. What’s waiting for her in the shadows
is a spider while her dad is at work instead of being on spider patrol!
Erin Dagon Mitchell - Mother Abbess
An award-winning actress and director, Erin is the Associate Director of TBA. Directing credits
include last season’s blockbuster Fiddler on the Roof (TBA), the critically acclaimed A Shayna
Maidel (ACT) and Legend of the Wolfman (SAHS). Past Halloween shows at TBA include Macbeth
(First Witch), The Death of Edgar Allan Poe (Jane) and Daemon of Darby Castle (Jane). Erin dreads
finding a creepy porcelain doll in the shadows under the bed.
Jessica Faust - Lady Elizabeth
Jessica is a UAA graduate student of biology by day and a bat detective by night. You may
recognize her from TBA shows such as The Curse of the Mummy, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and Winnie
the Pooh. She enjoys traveling, making music, hiking, and napping with her cat, Melvin. Jessica
would find the eyes and teeth of a great white shark waiting hungrily for her in the shadows.
Mike Faust - Ambrose Darkly
Mike is VP of Exploration & Land for Conoco Phillips. When not looking for oil, he loves to fly
fish, camp & snowmachine. Past Halloween shows with TBA include Curse of the Mummy, Legend
of the Wolfman, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and The Death of Edgar Allan Poe. His favorite Halloween
activity is working with TBA, where he constantly learns from the masters. He is certain that a big
rainbow trout awaits him in the shadows of a leaning cottonwood.
Zoey Grenier - Emma
Zoey is thrilled to reprise her role from TBA’s 2013 SPAA premier of Shadow Hour! Recent TBA
performances include Young Jane in Boy with Daffodils and Young Julie in Our Bridge Place at the
Last Frontier Theatre Conference. Last August, she performed internationally at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival as Little Red in Rockin’ Red Riding Hood (SAHS). As a biathlete, Zoey is inexplicably
frightened of hordes of evil rabbits waiting in the shadows.
Among the Shadows
Jerry V. Guillen - Fiend the 1st
Jerry is grateful to be working with TBA Theatre yet again. Recent performances include A
Christmas Carol, Much Ado About Nothing (SPAA), and TBA’s 2013 Summer Academy premier of
Shadow Hour as Lord Cain. When not acting, Jerry likes to play video games and work out in
preparation for entering boot camp in January. He believes another reality awaits him in the
shadows.
Moises Hernandez - Louis Cipher
Moises is a theater major at UAA. When he is not in class, he is making pretzels at Auntie Anne’s
and working on puppet shows and ideas. Last Halloween, you may have seen him as Clerval in
TBA’s Frankenstein. What awaits him in the shadows is a clown with a creepy smile holding a
banana.
Jacqueline Hoffman - Fiend the 2nd
Jacqueline is very happy to join TBA Theatre once again for their Halloween production. The last
spooky show she did with the company was Macbeth. Most recently, she was seen as Felecia
Dantine in Anchorage Community Theatre’s I Hate Hamlet. While she enjoys playing a horrifying
demonic monster, what she is truly afraid of in the shadows is the silence and an unanswered
call for help.
Toni Huggins - Sister Theresa
Toni is pleased to be acting, once again, in a TBA production, after a seven year hiatus. Usually,
you can find her behind the scenes costume designing or stage managing. When she’s not
working on a show you can find her working as a hair dresser, business owner, or helping manage
The Alaska Experience Theatre. Evil clowns await Toni in the shadows.
Noah Jeremias - Stephen of Thatcham
Noah is in the 7th grade at Goldenview Middle School. His most recent performances include
TBA’s Velveteen Rabbit and Charlotte’s Web. Last Halloween, Noah died as young William in TBA’s
Frankenstein, and is thrilled to be brought back to life in Shadow Hour. He’s not frightened of
what is waiting in the shadows... it’s just his mom (backstage).
Rhiannon Johnson - Gwendolyn Goodwill
Rhiannon is a regular actor and technician with TBA. She is currently studying visual arts at UAA,
and is an aspiring scenic painter. Her two most recent works were portraying Belle in A Christmas
Carol, and painting the set for SAHS’ production of The Legend of the Wolfman. Rhiannon is sure
that the legendary, dreaded Cark is waiting to attack her in the darkness.
Tai Yen Kim - Solomon
Shadow Hour is Tai’s second show with TBA. He previously appeared in TBA’s production
of Charlotte’s Web as Gander. When he isn’t studying at UAA, he’s watching movies, reading,
skiing when possible, and hanging out with friends and family. What awaits him in the shadows
is an eternity of infallibility; a premise to one of his favorite Twilight Zone episodes.
Isaac J. Kumpula - Yorik
Isaac’s penchant for the dramatic is quenched with his participation in this production. His
interest lies primarily in the performing arts, and his activities range from theatre performances
to music composition. He enjoys smooth jazz, starry skies, short walks on the beach at a
moderate pace, and wishes the snow wouldn’t fall until November 2nd. Stubbing his toes and
tripping over furniture is what awaits him in the shadows.
Among the Shadows
Bradley M. Miller - AkanAkan
Brad has been a denizen of TBA Halloween shows for over a decade. Past roles include Professor
Waldman in Frankenstein, Professor van Helsing in Dracula, and The Red Death in The Death of
Edgar Allan Poe. By day, he is a maker and purveyor of teeth (Dental Laboratory Technician), and
serves as director of The Wild Rovers at the Three Baron’s Fair. What waits in the Shadows for him
are the Demons of his Past.
Wayne Mitchell - Mirth/Technical Director
Halloween is a big deal in the Mitchell household. So, it’s no surprise that Wayne is back doing
TBA’s Halloween show. Past roles include, Colonel Doyle in Curse of the Mummy, Poe in The
Death of Edgar Allan Poe and Macbeth in Macbeth. He hopes that once this show has scared the
pants off you that you cheer up by seeing Jeepers Creepers Gleeful Halloween Sing-off! Lurking in
Wayne’s shadows are his crazy, hillbilly neighbors!
Justin Oller - Lord Cain
Justin is earning his BA in Theatre at UAA, having also studied at the University of Southern
Oregon, and the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. Past projects include Jonathan Harker
in Dracula (TBA), Johnathan Willoughby in Sense and Sensibility (UAA), Enfield in Dr.Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde (UEA), and The White Rose, which he directed at Dimond High. Awaiting Justin in the
shadows are the greatest literary monsters of all time; Aragog and Shelob.
Lex Powell - Angelo
Alexander (Lex)is very happy to be appearing in his first production with TBA theatre and his first
show in the great state of Alaska. A new arrival to the state, he is pleased to be working with such
talented actors, designers, and assorted theater folks. When not treading the boards, Lex works
at the Brother Francis Homeless Shelter for Catholic Social Services. He hopes that a nice pastrami
Reuben sandwich awaits him in the shadows.
Lauren Stanford - Branwyn
Lauren is quite thrilled for her second TBA Halloween experience. Last season she portrayed
Elizabeth Lavenza in Frankenstein. Currently she is studying ceramics at UAA and working in a
haunted theatre. Lauren enjoys summers at her grandmother’s remote homestead, as well as
commercial fishing in Bristol Bay with her family. The wails and whispers of the unseen await
Lauren in the shadows.
Jessica Tullius - Lady Helena
Jessica is a student at UAA majoring in Psychology. Past roles with TBA include William
in Frankenstein, Molly & Chloe Riley in Daemon of Darby Castle, a member of the mob in
Frankenstein, and a shadow in The Death of Edgar Allan Poe. She is also a musician, performing
with the Aurora Harp Ensemble. What awaits her in the shadows in a doll with half a face (but
don’t worry, she’s friendly).
Grace Williams - Sister Anne
Grace is a sophomore at South High and is very excited to be in her second Halloween show
with TBA. She has been seen in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing (TBA SPAA), The Sound of
Music (SAHS), and I Never Saw Another Butterfly (SAHS). When Grace isn’t performing, she can be
found playing with her flag football team. What awaits Grace in the shadows is a life-time supply
of mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Behind the Shadows
Andrea Anderson - Stage Manager
Andrea is a proud founding member of TBA Theatre. She first managed one of Shane Mitchell’s
horror adaptations in 1999, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and, most recently, 2012’s Macbeth. She is very
lucky to be married to Jeff, who doesn’t mind being a theater widower sometimes, and to have
a boss at PangoMedia who feels the same. Andrea doesn’t know what may be waiting in the
shadows because NO WAY is she going in there!
Anderson Starr Farmer - Light Board Op
Anderson currently attends Polaris Charter School as a sophomore. He has been involved with
TBA for three years. You may remember him as Kevin Bacon in The Three Little Pigs or as Dick,
Scrooge’s best friend, in A Christmas Carol. Anderson will be the one in the shadows, teching and
looking for children to scare.
Frank Hardy - Lighting Design
Normally a lighting designer who seeks to reveal ultimate truths Frank is using this show as an
opportunity to get in touch with his dark side and deluminate the stage. Reviving his skills of,
as the reviewer of The Wooden Breeks said, creating “infinite shades of darkness”, Frank hopes to
bring about a deep depression of the spirit and release his inner demons. He fears his EVIL CAT
awaits him in the shadows.
Eric Hoffman - Fiscal Technician
Eric is a proud supporter of TBA Theatre and is excited to be part of this dynamic team. Having a
strong love of the arts, Eric paid his way through college by working at an arts studio and holds a
BA in accounting as well as a BA in Finance from UAA. With over nine years of professional work
experience, from Alaska to the Middle East, Eric is happy to lend his expertise behind the scenes.
What awaits in the shadows is a dark foreboding of light yet to come.
Cassie Jeremias - Dresser & Stagehand
Cassie has been a TBA Mom for several seasons, but is excited to be making her official debut as
Stage Mom for the cast of Shadow Hour. With past experience doing hair for TBA’s Frankenstein
and Aesop’s Runaway Fables, she’s ready to graduate into costuming, props & all things backstage.
When alone in the dark, and her imagination runs wild, Cassie is sure the headless horseman is
coming to take her head!
Dawn Johnson - Costume Designer
Dawn has been creating costumes since the 1970’s and her work has won several
competitions. She has worked on over 601 wedding gowns! This is her return to Shadow Hour
as she previously designed this play and Cliffhanger, for the students of TBA ‘s 2013 Summer
Performing Arts Academy. What awaits Dawn in the shadows? Crickets and fireflies, but
definitely NOT the thing that used to knock stuff over in her kitchen when no one was there.
P. Shane Mitchell - Director/Playwright
A huge fan of Halloween, Shane has written several original horror works and adaptations,
including The Death of Edgar Allan Poe, Dracula, and The Daemon of Darby Castle. He is thrilled to
have his original Halloween comedy, Jeepers Creepers, playing concurrently with Shadow Hour.
As an actor, some favored creepy roles include Renfield, Mr. Hyde, and Captain Walton, all with
TBA. The thing he fears in the shadows will poke out his eyes or steal away his sweet wife Erin
and little dog Cookie.
Kristin Mumm - Administrative Assistant
Kristin is a regular both on and off the stage at TBA. She is a critically acclaimed dance and fight
choreographer whose work has appeared in Bat Boy: The Musical, Bark!, Hairspray, and Legally
Blonde. You may have seen her in such productions as West Side Story (Carmen), Hansel and
Gretel: A New Musical (Mother) and The Head That Wouldn’t Die (WW). Kristin knows that her dog
Sadie is waiting for her in the shadows. She trips over her every morning.
Behind the Shadows
Jack Sexauer - Sound Board Op
Jack is currently a junior at South Anchorage, where he is an active member of the debate
program. This is his fifth main stage show with TBA; notable mentions of Jack include his work
as Assistant Stage Manager in the recent production of Fiddler on the Roof. Justin Oller waits for
Jack in the shadows, trying to convince him to do onstage acting (Jack says no).
Tracy Simmons - Composer/Original Score
Tracy is proud to have his original score underneath the creepiness of Shadow Hour. His prior
musical work for the stage includes the theme song for Out North’s The Unraveling of Edison P.
Rupwright. In television, you can hear his original arrangement of “Come Thou Fount of Every
Blessing” on the show Sister Wives (TLC Season Four). You’ve seen him onstage as Edgar in The
Death of Edgar Allan Poe (TBA), and Dr Seward in Dracula (TBA). That which is awaiting him in the
shadows has no eyes, but sees everything.
Meet TBA’s new logo!

Hailey Faust
Hailey grew up with the gang at TBA and appeared
in many shows including The Little Magic Snowman,
Witch of Greythorn, and Curse of the Mummy.
She has gone on to be a professional graphic and
media designer and graciously donated her time
and talents to update our logo. Keeping the same
feeling as the original, this new logo has a
professional look with a vintage flair that’s a

jeepers and creepers
Megan Bladow - Choreographer
A founding member of TBA, Megan has been dancing since the age of 5 and loves bringing her moves
to the stage. Past works include The Boyfriend (CTC), Les Miserables (SAHS), Little Women (DHS), and
Sound of Music, Babes in Arms and Fiddler on the Roof for TBA. She is currently working on Oklahoma
at Dimond High, opening November 4. Megan is an actor, director and award-winning designer, who
appeared as Natasha in Davy Jones’ Haunted Halloween Cruise. Working with her pals on the red curtain
Halloween shows, is most certainly Megan’s favorite trick or treat.
Lauren Brown - Stage Manager
Lauren joined the ranks of TBA when she was 11 years old through a physical comedy program/show
with her school, and has been hooked ever since! She participated in that program for four years, then
took it over as a student leader, and has since passed it on to another student. This summer she worked
as a technical intern for the TBA summer academy and had a blast. During season shows, she has been
working backstage, though she hopes to get back onstage sometime soon. The past two years, she has
joined the Red Court in the Renaissance Faire. Her favorite Halloween treat is seeing the tiny princesses.
Dana Mitchell - Director
Dana has been having the time of her life working on Jeepers Creepers. She has been
writing lyrics for the Halloween red curtain shows for several years and directed last
year’s Davy Jones Haunted Halloween Cruise. She was last on stage as Charlotte in TBA’s
Charlotte’s Web. Dana’s favorite treat is hitting the town with the kids on Halloween, but
finding a costume is tricky (and she has a whole shop in her backyard! Go figure...)
Glenn Roose - Music Director
Glenn started working with TBA in 2014 as the music director for TBA’s production of
Fiddler on the Roof. He has both written and performed music for various productions,
most recently writing a short melody for a song performed at a South Anchorage High
School production of I Never Saw Another Butterfly. He has had a lot of laughs working
with Jeepers Creepers’, and can’t wait for his family to see it!
jeepers and creepers
David Dunlap - Edvard
David got drafted into TBA when he gushed like a newb over the Frankenstein set. He has
performed in a variety of plays, musicals, and operas. Highlights include Motel in Fiddler on the
Roof, Guglielmo in Cose Fan Tutte, and Dr Dulcamara in The Elixir of Love. His favorite Halloween
trick is hiding in scarecrows and jumping out at trick-or-treaters.
Marissa “Mo” Garrigues - Jeepers Creepers
Mo is a local theatre person and coffee snob. She appeared last season in Charlotte’s Web as one
of the narrators, and in Fiddler on the Roof as a fish monger, both with TBA. She also originated
the role of Jenny Taylor in P. Shane Mitchell’s Christmas on the Yukon at ACT last Christmas. Mo’s
favorite Halloween treat is having friends who will go to great lengths to make sure she isn’t too
scared watching Halloween movies.
Chester Mainot - Boris
Chester loves vampires! It’s a dream come true, becoming one. He’s a Computer Nerd by day, not
a vampire by night, but a singer! He has performed with the Anchorage Opera for 5 years and
he sings barbershop with Breaking Point Quartet and The Midnight Sons Barbershop A Capella
Chorus. He was seen as Chip Tolentino in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Cyrano’s). His
favorite Halloween trick is holding a flashlight to his face in the dark.
Kekoa Núñez - Vlad
Kekoa is a ruggedly handsome man playing the centuries old vampire, Vlad. The father of one
beautiful infant son, Avery James, spends most of his time working on his play, snuggling with
aforementioned son, and being ruggedly handsome. You may have seen him before as Felix in
Frankenstein and George in Dracula. His favorite Trick or Treat is costar David Dunlap.
Randall Peck - Wolfman
Randall has been spending Halloween and his birthday with his friends at TBA for the last 14
years. You may have seen him in some his favorites as Swales in Dracula, and as Professor Krep
in Frankenstein, and various roles in The Death of Edgar Allan Poe. He is having a blast in the kids’
Halloween show. His favorite Trick and Treat is watching Halloween shows with his friends.
Linda Sexauer - Mother Mayeye
Linda is the mother of four TBA kids. For many years she has watched them perform and do
technical work for both Summer Academy and Mainstage shows. Last spring, she finally took
a break from reading through her 18,000-book personal library to perform as Edith Zuckerman
in TBA’s Charlotte’s Web. She’s discovered that while performing can be very “tricky,” living out
stories onstage is just as much of a treat as reading them.
Becky Sheridan - Goody Gumdrop
Becky is very happy to be a part of another TBA show that showcases physical comedy. Favorite
past roles include Professor Morton Hamdinner (The Three Little Pigs), Olio Girl (Jolly Roger King
of the Pirates), Ela Delahay (Charley’s Aunt), Elaine (Arsenic and Old Lace), and Madge Larrabee
(Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure). She is very happy to be part of a show that is more treat
than trick. Her favorite treat on Halloween is Sour Patch Kids.
Stacy Stimson Miller - Witch Hazel
Stacy is excited to join the TBA coven as Witch Hazel. This is her first red curtain show, and she is
proud to be part of this exuberant cast, in this epic tale, of Halloween shenanigans. You might
have seen her as part of the polka dot trio narrating Charlotte’s Web, Shaindel in Fiddler on the
Roof, or soliciting funds for the poor in A Christmas Carol. She has also played the Truvy, in Steel
Magnolias, Stacy’s favorite trick is to sneak her children’s hard earned treats. Shhh . . . . don’t tell!

For those of us in the theatre, Halloween is the perfect holiday. You would think we
might not buy in to the costumed madness, because we live in that world all year. But at
TBA, we embrace a society-wide costume party whole-heartedly. Five years ago, when
we started producing Halloween "red curtain shows" (that we originally intended to be
performed in front of the red curtain), our initial objective was to provide a separate
Halloween experience for our youngest TBA kids, for whom shows like Dracula and
Frankenstein would be too frightening. Over the years, these red curtain shows have
become a fully realized production of their own, and this year, we have pulled out all the
stops! From the stellar cast, to the toe-tapping songs, the amazing choreography, and
the side-splitting comedy, this production has been an absolute treat! I hope that you
will have as much fun with it as we did! Happy Halloween and Keep Howling!
