The 2012 Futurity was well-‐received and was adopted by the membership as an annual national competition. The 2014 AHS Futurity The AHS is pleased to offer a $3,000 AHS YEARLING AND 2-‐YEAR-‐OLD FUTURITY in conjunction with our 2014 inspection tour. The Futurity is open to AHS-‐registered, HV-‐registered, and AHS Certificate of Pedigree yearling colts and fillies and 2-‐year-‐old colts and fillies (four classes total). It will be judged using a scale from 1-‐100 with three categories: Conformation/Type, Movement, and Foundation/Legs. Copies of the score sheets will be given to participants at the conclusion of each class. Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons will be awarded in each of the four classes. Horses will be shown on the triangle; yearlings will be shown in a halter, while 2-‐year-‐olds will be shown in a bridle. They may not be turned loose, but a second round is permitted if necessary. Scores will be tabulated from every Futurity class and at the end of the year, the winners will be announced. The year-‐end rankings will be listed on the AHS website with Champions and Reserve Champions noted as well as the owner, breeder, sire, dam, and broodmare sire. $3,000 will be split between the top five yearlings and top five 2-‐year-‐olds in the country.
