Roles and Responsibilities: Provide reliable driving services to the WFP staff and high ranking UN officials and visitors in accordance to authorized routing following UN safety and security rules and regulations; Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities as required; Collect and deliver mail, documents and other items as required; Take care of the day-to-day efficient maintenance of the assigned means of transport, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc; Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times; Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc; Check log books of the WFP vehicles for completeness of record; Negotiate, liaise and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate smooth running of vehicle movements in designated areas; Where required, provide translation of basic information from the local language into an official language for the Head of the Office and UN staff in the vehicle; Assistant the office to do custom clearance; Take the steps required in accordance with the rules and regulations in case of an accident; Assist office staff in filing, photocopying and maintaining stores as required; Assist in mailing and distribution of newsletters and publications and arrange to pay office telephone and other bills; Where appropriate, schedule drivers and vehicles for use on a daily basis; Overtime will be worked on exceptional basis, supervisor will arrange the overtime job in advance; Help with visa application or protocol; Help with procurement market research; Perform other related duties as required.
