Manulife goes pink to promote breast-cancer awareness
Hong Kong — More than 300 staff and agents at Manulife donned something pink and pledged
donations in support of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s “Pink Revolution” recently — an annual breastcancer awareness campaign to promote the importance of early detection and raise money towards
its free breast-cancer support services.
Manulife has been a keen supporter of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund for 17 years and has backed the
“Pink Revolution” since 2008. This year, Manulife’s senior-management team members joined some
300 Manulifers to wear something pink on the designated “Dress Pink Day” — mainly ties and pocket
handkerchiefs for men, and dresses, blouses and accessories for ladies — to show their solidarity
with this worthwhile cause.
Michael Huddart, Manulife’s Executive Vice President and General Manager for Greater China,
commented: “According to the latest statistics from the Hong Kong Cancer Registryi, more than 3,000
women are newly diagnosed with breast cancer in our community each year. Manulifers’ enthusiastic
participation in this campaign has helped spread the importance of early detection and raise funds for
treatment. My hearty thanks go to everyone who helped make our Manulife Dress Pink Day such a
success.”
Founded in 1987, the Hong Kong Cancer Fund is the largest cancer support organization in Hong
Kong, providing free information and professional support services to patients and their families,
through which newly diagnosed or recovering patients can learn how to cope.

Adding a splash of pink to their normally sombre business attire, Manulife’s seniormanagement team members joined some 300 Manulifers to support the Hong Kong Cancer
Fund’s Pink Revolution on “Dress Pink Day” to raise awareness about breast cancer and
funds for the charity’s support services.
