Cost: $40/member student and $65/non-member student with a maximum of 30 students (This is expected to fill quickly) Location: Miller Safety, 12071 Tejon St. Ste. 200, Westminster, Colorado (Classroom A) Hazard Communication Training (2 hours) OSHA has amended the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) to align its requirements with the Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, or GHS. The GHS amendments to HazCom preserve the employee information and training requirements under the pre-GHS standard. However, there are additional employee training requirements under the GHS amendment that must be completed by December 1, 2013. All employees must receive this training. This course will cover: Chemicals in the workplace Routes of Entry Into the Body How to read and interpret GHS compliant labels How to read and interpret SDSs (formerly MSDSs) Aerial lifts: Includes lifts with a boom and scissor lifts (2 hours) Over the past ten years there has been controversy over the fall protection requirements while working from aerial lifts. This course will inform employees as to the regulatory requirements as well as best safe practices. OSHA requires employees to be trained when working from aerial lifts. This class will cover: Review of construction requirements Fall Protection requirements Personal Fall Arrest Systems Fall Restraint Equipment Inspections Safe Operation Statistics Rescue Plan requirements All classes subject to cancellation due to lack of participation.
