The Owen Dawson Quartet is formed of current students and recent graduates of the
prestigious Royal Academy of Music jazz programme. Led by award-winning trombonist
Owen Dawson, an Old Woodbridgian, the quartet performs traditional swinging selections
from the American Songbook alongside more contemporary standards chosen to
showcase the diverse interests of the group’s members. Individually, the musicians have
played in venues across the UK and abroad including Ronnie Scott's, Royal Festival Hall,
Pizza Express Jazz Club and at many of the country's leading music festivals too.

‘Love or knowledge: which would you choose?’
1896. Girton College, Cambridge, the first college in Britain to admit
women. Tess Moffat and her fellow first years are determined to win
the right to graduate. But little do they anticipate the hurdles in their
way: the distraction of love, the cruelty of the class divide or the
strength of the opposition, who will do anything to stop them.
The play follows them over one tumultuous academic year,
in their fight to change the future of education.

Abriefprofileofoneofthosesingers–
Annette Hanshaw, born in New York, was the very essence of
the Scott Fitzgerald Jazz Age girls. Her ‘flapper’ looks, her
voice, gave her the unofficial title of ‘The Personality Girl’
Annette recorded extensively between 1926 and 1934, with
numbers such as “You’re The Cream In My Coffee”, “I've
Got A feeling I’m Falling”and “I Wanna Be Loved By You”.
She retired to marry in 1934 and died in 1985, aged 83.
Janice Day hasbeenaprofessionalsingerandentertainerfromtheearlydayswith
thePiccadillyDanceOrchestra,throughacareerplayingcabaretintheprestige
venuesandclubs,theFestivalHall,theGrandHotels.Shehasassembleda
Full Orchestra of Ladies, The Dance Band Divas,usingtheremarkabletalents
ofMartinLittonasMusicalDirectortoachievetheauthenticsoundsofthose
bygonedays.Forthosewholovethefoot-tappingmelodiesofvintagemusic,

The Two Gentlemen of Verona
Valentine and Proteus are best friends until they fall in love with the same girl.
Having travelled to Milan in search of adventure, they both fall for the Duke's daughter Silvia.
But Proteus is already sworn to his sweetheart Julia at home in Verona, and the Duke thinks
Valentine is not good enough for his Silvia.
With friendship forgotten, the rivals' affections quickly get out of hand as the four young
lovers find themselves on a wild chase through the woods, confused by mistaken identity and
threatened by fierce outlaws before they find a path to reconciliation.
Enjoy a picnic surrounded by the stunning grounds of the School as you are transported to
Italy for an evening of magical entertainment.

Box Office Opening hours are 3.00 – 5.00pm, Monday – Friday during school term time. Only School
productions can be booked via the Seckford Theatre Box Office; telephone 01394 615 015 or
boxoffice@woodbridge.suffolk.sch.uk . There is an answerphone facility which is available at all
times and calls made before 12.30pm, on a day when the Box Office is open, will be returned that day.
Alternatively an email can be sent and these are dealt with in the order that they are received.
Payment, when required, can be made over the telephone using a credit/debit card, in person at the
Box Office during open hours or prior to a performance.
