This is a beautiful service to help us prepare spiritually for the coming of the Christ Child on Christmas morning. The focus of the service is our parish nativity scene which is prepared throughout the service. As the service progresses with the Readings and music, various elements of the scene are placed in the nativity until the entire nativity is complete. All families are invited to bring their manager and Christ figure from their own personal nativity scene to have it blessed. Everyone will be invited to take home from our parish nativity scene a piece of hay to help make the connection between your family and the parish family. Because Mary was immaculate from the moment of her conception, she is able to respond to God’s invitation with great generosity. She does not seek her own advancement, but rather places herself at the disposition of God saying that she is God’s handmaid. She answers God’s call even though she does not yet fully understand what it all means. The child is to be called Jesus, a name that means “Yahweh saves.” He will be the fulfillment of Nathan’s promise to David, for he will be a king with an eternal reign. All of this happens because nothing is impossible with God. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sacred Heart Memorial Society… Those who are enrolled in the Memorial Society will have their names written in a special book. The Memorial Book will be on display by the St. Joseph Altar. An intention will also be included in the Sunday petitions for those enrolled in the Memorial Society. All donations from the Sacred Heart Memorial Society will be used for the purchasing of items needed to celebrate the Sacraments. Suggested offering is $20.00. ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mary rejoices in the Lord… I rejoice heartily in the Lord, in my God is the joy of my soul; for he has clothed me with a robe of salvation, and wrapped me in a mantle of justice, like a bride adorned with her jewels.
