Year End Matching Gifts
We have been blessed again this year with a matching gift opportunity from one of our Cathedral School
supporters who will match dollar for dollar donations
made from now until year end to the school. The matching gift is for donations received to $15,000. This is an
excellent opportunity to make your donation count twice.
Donations may be sent to the Cathedral Parish
Office, 702 Summit Avenue, Crookston, MN 56716 by
December 31, 2014.
Donate Grain Directly
Farmers and commodity producers have another method
that they can use to make a gift to our capital campaign:
that is making a gift of commodities such as wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, etc. For many cash basis farmers,
significant tax savings can be achieved by donating crops
directly to the Cathedral. If you would like to know more
about donating commodities contact our bookkeeper.
IRA Rollover Approved for 2014
Did you know that you can reduce your taxes by making
a gift from your IRA to charity?
The IRA Charitable Rollover permits individuals who are
70½ to rollover up to $100,000 from their IRA to charity
free from federal income tax. The Rollover must be completed by December 31, 2014.
Better yet, an IRA rollover gift qualifies for your required
minimum distribution, permitting you to lower your income
and taxes for this year while helping the Northwest Minnesota Foundation make our region a better place to live
and work.
Contact Caryl Turnow or Lisa Peterson at 218-759-2057
to learn more about how you can redirect unneeded IRA
income to charity, help further our mission and enjoy
valuable tax savings this year.
