Holding pattern

T&C staff
With early deadlines, we gathered
the price reports
from a day early
last week, but still
got the same story
— prices seem to
be in a bit of a holding pattern, with no
new trade to report
as of last Tuesday,
Dec. 16.
Regardless, the
past few months
has been good to
those with cattle to
sell, and perhaps
will lead to a much
more Merry Christmas than might
have been hoped for
earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, there
were no prices given
for market weight
steers or heifers,
either live or rail
grade.
Upper weight
feeder steers and
heifers also showed
a drop in prices,
along with somewhat lower cull
cattle prices.
Feeder steer
and heifer prices
also showed a bit
of a drop on some
weights, yet others were slightly
higher; a somewhat
mixed bag. It was
interesting to note
there were no prices
shown for the heavy
weight steers or
heifers. We noted a
