FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President
Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, whose support has been demonstrated by his annual visits to the
show, GESS Dubai is now going into its 8th year as the leading educational event in the Middle East
Region.
With the on-going support of the UAE Ministry of Education, GESS Dubai is the only education exhibition
within the region to have the presence of seven Ministries of Education and other education authorities. This
allows the show to have high level discussions that change the education sector in the region and provides
the platform for their delegations to network, have training and purchase from the exhibitors.
Now in the prestigious Dubai World Trade Centre, GESS Dubai was originally launched in January 2008 in the
Madinat Hotel Jumeirah. With a 16% increase in the number of educational companies represented year on
year, GESS Dubai 2014 saw 350 exhibitors from 35 countries; a truly international event covering the full
spectrum of educational supplies and solutions. GESS Dubai has rapidly expanded since the inaugural event;
this year over 9,000 education professionals from 74 countries were in attendance, a 33% increase year on
year. In line with the expansion of the exhibition, the Global Education Forum (GEF), the high level CPD accredited
conference programme held alongside GESS Dubai, has gone from strength to strength. GEF provides
an extensive, world-class educational programme to help teachers, educators and academics of all
levels develop their skills and gain insight from international experts. Featuring a wide range of keynote
presentations, ministerial panel sessions, heads of state, CPD sessions, abstract presentations and
workshops, GEF attracts a wide range of international and local keynote speakers addressing today’s key
education topics.

Attending GESS 2014 allowed me to keep abreast with all the latest Educational resources and cutting edge
products. As a classroom teacher and keen collaborator, the sharing of good practice is essential to my professional
development as an educator. The Global Education Forum was a fantastic FREE opportunity for me to do this. The
program was well organised and jam packed with inspirational and ‘real’ Educators. High quality CPD for FREE, what
more could you ask for? Role on GESS 2015!
Mark Wood, SPARK CoFounder
DON’T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT!
“We always come to GESS Dubai, it is a great way to
meet various people form the Ministries of Education
and Government in general. It is also a great opportunity
to work with partners who we may not neccesarily be
connected to, they are all exhibiting here. Predominantly
it is for customer contact.
The highlights for the show for Microsoft is that we
meet so many different government leaders from all
across the Gulf. So for us to be here and to meet with
them and have quality time with them which, we don’t
often have the time to do, is one of the main benefits
and reasons as to why we come back here every year.”
Microsoft (Exhibitor)
“Amazing show, wonderful learning experience, and a
must-attend for educators.”
Mitch Rosin, Chief Strategy Officer, Jump Education
(Visitor)
“GESS Dubai & GEF offer a unique opportunity to really
sample the educational suppliers, allowing education as
an industry to improve by leaps and bounds rather than
stagnating when waiting for suppliers to approach the
school. This was an opportunity that I value and will be
sure to avail myself of in the future.”
Christine Jones, Teacher, HCT (Visitor)
“This exhibition should be attended by more teachers
and heads of school. Those who didn’t attend, simply
lost a wonderful opportunity to upgrade their institution.
It’s the ideas and networking with educational tool
producers that changes your intuition and imagination.
My teaching experience at State University of New
York improved solely by meeting other educators and
exchange of ideas.”
Maqsood Ahmed, Affan Innovative Structures LLC
(Visitor)
“GEF has a very high level of speakers and keynote
speakers from all over the world, it is a very good place
to receive good information and trends in the education
industry.“
Worlddidac (Exhibitor and Association)
“It’s really exciting for me to be at GESS Dubai and
GEF 2014, to see the range of new technologies that
are being introduced into this region and into the
classroom to really help children learn and teachers
teach and to change the view of education and the entire
environment in the classroom.”
Ethan Danahy, In association with LEGO, Research
Assistant Professor, Tufts University School of
Engineering
“A must visit for anyone in education and the higher
education sector, to get an idea of what progress is
being made in teaching methodology.”
Dr Hajer Sheikh, Lecturer, Dubai Medical College
(Visitor)
“The exhibition (GESS Dubai) is a very interesting thing
for us, to meet other suppliers in the area as well as for
us to meet teachers and educators who are attending
the conference. So we have had a lot of people coming
to our stand to find out what we do and looking at ways
of working together.”
British Council (Exhibitor and Partner)
“GESS Dubai is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate
and integrate between the foreign experience and
the region and the Arabic experience. It is a great
opportunity for everybody to see how the East and West
and the Middle East work in education, in business and
industry and to share their experience.”
Al Motahida (Exhibitor)
“We always consider GESS Dubai as one of our major
education exhibitions. It is an opportunity to promote
ourselves and our services to the whole region. We feel
GESS Dubai is the largest and most important education
show in the region. We must be a part of this every
year, because we think it is the only exhibition which
transfers information about education development
around the world to the local market in the region.”

SHOW FEATURES TO INSPIRE AND INFORM
From our inaugural GESS Education Awards (GEA) to the first ever onsite Product Innovation Awards
showcase, the event truly celebrated the achievements and outstanding success for the suppliers and
teaching professionals of the education sector throughout the Middle East.
GESS EDUCATION AWARDS
By either entering the awards or via sponsorship – utilise this fantastic evening to your
advantage.
This year at GESS, we held the inaugural GESS Education Awards, whereby suppliers
and/or distributors, teachers, schools and educational professionals had a chance
to raise the profile of their products and work by entering into the awards. A total of
18 awards selected from thousands of entries were announced during a spectacular
evening on the 5th of March at the H Hotel.
“Thank you for creating a night where educators were celebrated like Academy Award nominees
and winners. You’re doing a really good thing.” Lara Matossian-Roberts, Sci-Fest Dubai
PRODUCT INNOVATION AWARDS
As part of GEA, the finalists of the product innovations awards had a dedicated stand on the show floor to
allow visitors to interact with the products and vote onsite. A fantastic platform for your product or service in
front of an audience of dedicated educational professionals.

A CHANCE TO MEET WITH THOSE MAKING BIG PURCHASING DECISIONS
Designed to build and develop lasting business relationships with those responsible for making big
purchasing decisions, GESS Al Nadi is a club (by invitation only) that brings together the Gulf’s leading
education professionals to network with GESS Dubai exhibitors. Membership is limited to those head
teachers and procurement professionals that have direct purchasing authority or who influence the buying
process. The community has grown rapidly since its inauguration in 2011 and today we have over 1,500 of the
leading educational professionals.
GESS Al Nadi members have access to a business lounge onsite at GESS Dubai to help create an
environment for business. This year we saw over 400 Al Nadi members attend the exhibition and the lounge
was very busy on all three days. What could it be worth to your business to be able to speak and network with
a room full of these leading educational professionals?
In addition to the main GESS Dubai show, we held a satellite event in conjunction with the British Council.
Themed “Practical Apps for Education”, the event took place on the 5th November and demonstrated best
practices for eLearning as well as how to use apps seamlessly to improve learning in the classroom and at
home. This was hugely successful and well attended.
We have a number of sponsorship packages available to allow you to promote your brand to this carefully
targeted audience, to find out more please contact Jonnie.wicks@fegroup.ae.
