Winter safety
• During winter months, set waste out on the cleared portion of
your driveway.
• Never place your blue boxes, green bins or residual garbage on
snow banks or on the roadway.
3. Buy only what you need. Sometimes buying in bulk
seems better, however some experts have shown that
buying in bulk increase the urge to consume more than
normal and in turn waste more.
4. Reuse and repurpose.
Where possible, reuse packaging
for things like food storage,
gift boxes, planters, measuring
cups, etc.
By being mindful of what
you buy, you can reduce waste
and keep money in your
wallet too!

1. Make a shopping list. Take stock of what you need
before going to the store. This avoids multiple trips or
duplicate purchases.

• Metal lids from items like soup cans
should be inside tins then pinched closed.

Sharp
One of the best things we can do to reduce our impact on
the environment is to avoid the creation of waste altogether.
Here are some tips to minimize your waste:

Sharp objects
