What’s About with the Ranger - Landguard
Nature Reserve
Ranger led walk for all the family providing a seasonal
look at the Landguard Nature Reserve. A great
opportunity to learn more about the reserve's wildlife and
enjoy a healthy walk. Children 15 years and under must
be accompanied by an adult. Bring stout footwear and
waterproofs. Dogs welcome if kept on a short lead.
Admission free, but donations welcome. All donations go
towards the Landguard Bungalow bird feeding station.
Meet outside the Landguard Visitor Centre and View
Point Cafe. This time: Keep up your New Year's
Resolution to keep fit, wrap up warm, brace yourself and
walk off the seasonal excesses. Can we spot Redwings,
Fieldfares or other winter bird migrants? How important
are the reserve's berries to these birds? Find out why
the vegetated shingle habitat is an internationally rare
habitat and the conservation value of unimproved

Writing Exercise’ - ‘The Room at the Top’, Felixstowe

Long established writers' group that was formed around
40 years ago. A variety of homework assignments are
set to be read out at the following meeting, with
feedback provided. This meeting: ‘Short Four Word
Creative Writing Exercise’. New members welcome.

Weaverbyrd Hand Weaving and Textile Art
Studio: Weaving Tutorials
Two half days of relaxed and inspirational freestyle
weaving. Make your own colourful fabric, perhaps a wall
hanging or a cosy scarf... whatever takes your fancy.
Using a variety of yarns from around the world you will
learn about the techniques and philosophy of Saori
inspired weaving, a Japanese style of art weaving which
concentrates on colour and texture. Everything supplied,
but you are also welcome to bring your own bits and
bobs. Refreshments. Workshop is held at artist's

Churches Together in Felixstowe: Week of
Prayer for Christian Unity - various locations
throughout the town
Member churches of CTIF will be holding weekday
meetings that anyone may attend. Some will have
speakers on certain topics. The Unity Week ends with a
United Service at Felixstowe Academy on Sunday
25 January at 1830. There will be a “Unity Choir”
singing as part of the service. The theme
of the service will be “The Well is Deep”. Speaker is
Major David Jackson, Divisional Commander Salvation

Monthly meeting of the Speakers of Felixstowe group.
Speaking in front of people, even when speaking about
a much loved place such as Felixstowe, can be nerve
wracking. At Speakers of Felixstowe a warm reception
awaits new and rusty speakers who want to improve
their skills. Experienced orators are also encouraged to
come and share their tips to help others develop this
vital employability and social skill and to enter the
Association of Speaker Clubs contests. This
time: Speech and Evaluation Contests. Speakers of
