Tick Twister
The Tick Twister is one of the best and safest ways to remove ticks without
leaving the mouth parts of the tick implanted in the skin - without the use of
chemicals.
• Cradles the body of the tick without compressing the abdomen, minimising
the transfer of tick-borne infections.
• Removes the whole tick without leaving parts behind in the skin.
• Removes the tick, quickly and without any pain.
Twisting a tick with tweezers, forceps or other types of tools can exert pressure
to the tick's mouth parts, breaking them off. The Tick Twister cradles the body
of the tick without exerting pressure to either its mouth parts or abdomen. It
can therefore be safely twisted, which allows the tick's barbed proboscis to be
freed from the surrounding tissue.
The Tick Twister can be used on people and pets. It can be disinfected or
sterilised, and is made from recyclable plastic, which can be incinerated
without producing pollutant chlorine fumes.
Instructions:
• Choose the most suitable Tick Twister hook, according to the size of the
tick (each pack contains two sizes, one for adult
ticks and one for the tiny nymph ticks).
• Engage the hook by approaching the tick from the side (the body of the tick
is flat) until it is held securely.
• Lift the hook very lightly and turn it (screwing or unscrewing). The tick
detaches itself after 2-3 rotations.
