2015 SHOW RULES & CONDITIONS
1. All entries must be on an official entry form. Entry fees and fees stated on entry form are to accompany entries. A full refund, less $25.00 will be given on total Entries for that horse/pony on receipt of a Vet Certificate prior to the show commencing or we will accept 1 substitution of another horse or Pony, and it does not have to be in the same section or class, at no extra
cost. Only 1 substitute horse/pony is allowed to be made on original entry after that a 50% penalty will be charged as well as
the normal entry fee on each class entered or changed. If more entry forms required you may photocopy original. All changes
or substitutes must go through the Secretary’s office.
2. Show coordinators reserve the right to alter, change or combine classes, to refuse any entry and remove any horse/pony it
considers dangerous from the grounds. Any disciplinary action taken for any person or animal on the showground’s is at the
discretion of the show coordinators and seriousness of the offence
3. All Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
4. NUMBER HOLDERS ARE COMPULSORY for all competitors. If competitors require their allocated number prior to
show days they can either email, Fax or Phone the secretary ( no later than the Saturday before the show). nznatshowcase@xtra.co.nz, Ph 03-3149019 or Fax 03-3149120. Catalogues will be available at the showground’s from Thursday the
29th of Jan 2015
onwards which contain allocated numbers also a list of numbers is on our Number Holder Link on the
shows website www.nznatshowcase.co.nz
5. Only horses or ponies entered in the show are permitted on the grounds.
6. Height certificates must be carried where height is stipulated. Current life, annual or youngstock certificates will be allowed.
No measuring on the day of the show.
7. All competitors compete at their own risk. No responsibility is taken for any damage or loss of personal property or accidents on the day of the show. The Show does not have a licence to sell Alcohol and any under aged persons who have consumed alcohol, or any other illegal substance are the responsibility of their parents or guardian while on the showground’s.
No bikes are permitted on the grounds during the show or during the setting up of the show.
8. Disciplinary action will be taken if any person purposely jabs a horse/pony in the mouth, excessive use of whip, spurs or any
other offensive behavior. No dressage whips to be carried while competing in the Show Ring.
9. No telephoned or Faxed entries accepted. ENTRIES CLOSE 9TH OF JANUARY 2015. Late entries will be accepted with a
50% late penalty charged on entries received after our closing date.
10. All protests must be submitted no later than half an hour after the incident that gave rise to the protest and must be in
writing accompanied by a $30 deposit, refundable if the protest is sustained.
11. A riding hat is to be worn at all times while riding.
12. The use of tranquillizer's, stimulants, or any other drug that may affect the performance of horses or ponies is forbidden.
Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show. Testing of all animals will be
at owners risk and your signature on the entry form denotes acceptance of these conditions. It is at our discretion whether we
take blood or urine. All drug testing results will be published.
13. All horses and ponies that are entered under saddle must be 3 years or over.
14. All rules and conditions that are in the schedule also apply to the catalogue.
15. Please read in co-junction with these rules and conditions any rules that are throughout the Schedule and Catalogue under
each Section.
16. If you have entered a horse/pony in two rings please note that NO classes will be held up for you.
17. Protest committee is Denis Bailey and Ernie Knight.
18. As the show has sponsors, no selling of products out of the back of trucks, no displaying of products at the show, or
handing out pamphlets, no Horse Massage Therapy or any business activities of any sort are allowed without the permission of
the show coordinators, $500 penalty will apply if caught.
19. Once judging has commenced no one can enter the ring late unless approved by the gate Stewards.

20. People using Stables and parking on show ground must clean up their hay, manure, straw etc before leaving and put in
the bin/trailer provided. Bins for stable users are at the end of the old stable complex. Please phone and pre-book stables
before sending in your entries. Stable charge is $25.00 per night or $50.00 for the full show per stable. All Stables must be
cleaned out once finished with. Please refer to rule 30 & 36 also regarding Stables.
21. Note times on the show program are approx only and may be subject to change
22. No tape or homemade fences are allowed to be erected on the grounds without the permission of the Show Coordinators.
23. Riders under 17 years old must wear approved safety hats while riding at all times.
24. If for any reason the show coordinators have to change or replace a selected judge there will be no refunds given to any
exhibitors due to this change.
25.A Novice Horse or Pony is to have not exceeded six wins in the Novice Section ie if you have had a Champion in the
open section but have not exceeded your Novice wins you are still eligible to enter. It is competitors choice whether to use a
snaffle or a double in the Novice Sections & Memorial Classes. Novice Horses and Ponies can also enter Open Classes.
26. No tying horses or ponies to the Main Oval Ringside
27. The Show Coordinators reserve the right to add, change or alter any rule or condition they feel has been twisted or
utilized to give an unfair advantage to a competitor or to under-mind the shows commitment to be fair to all competitors.
28. Ear Plugs are allowed.
29. Camping Permits must be displayed on vehicles and trucks that are staying on the showground’s.
30. Anyone caught using stables without paying will also be fined $25.00 per stable and made to pay the daily charge out
rate for the above. Under no circumstances is any trade village or display yards to be used by anyone.
31. Riders on Open ponies up to 128cm must be under 13 years old, ponies over 128cm up to 148cm Riders must be under
17 years old, ages as at the 30TH of January 2015.
32. Under no circumstances is there to be any other person in the ring other than the rider, for under saddle, unless
permission is given by the Show Coordinators.
33. Artificial Aids are permitted in the ring and outside the ring ,providing they do not cause a disturbance to any other
horse or pony within the ring example: Rattles, Shakers etc. The Show Coordinators make the final decision on this rule if a
problem relating to the use of Artificial Aids occurs.
34. TWO STEWARDS HAVE BEEN APPOINTED For the 3 days and nights of the show to cover the Show grounds and
Stable Areas keeping a eye on the welfare of horses and ponies, making sure equipment is regulation, as per the shows rules
ie length of whips etc, watching for anyone who is administering any substances and check packaging of that product and if
they believe it to be a forbidden substance, pass the matter onto the Show Coordinators to decide whether to do a drug test
on that horse or pony, and generally keeping an eye on all aspects of safety.
35. No Spectators, Grooms, Mothers etc are allowed to stand in the Main Horse Entry Doorway into the Indoor Arena.
36. All Horses and Ponies entering the Show are required to have ID tags on their Horses or Ponies halters at all times. On
the ID tag must be written your name and mobile phone number, so in the case of an emergency or your horse or pony
becoming loose or hurt the owner can be contacted.
37. All competitors please note: If you are under 17 years old and riding a hack you are able to enter the Senior Rider class
or Senior Equestrian Unity Class, but to enter the Intermediate Rider or Intermediate Equestrian Unity you must be on a
pony. All Competitors in the Rider Title classes are expected to have a sitting trot in their free workout.
38. The Show Coordinator would appreciate being told about any horse or pony creating a dangerous situation for
themselves or anyone else in the work in areas or around the stables so that action can be taken.
39. As we have a professional photographer, who sponsors the show, on the grounds, under no circumstances are photos at
this show to be taken or posted on the internet with the intent to sell on. All officials at the show have been made aware to
look out for anyone doing this and they will immediately be asked to leave the grounds...this does not include people taking
photos of their own horses for their own personal use.

40. Stallions or Colts are NOT permitted at the Show in any Sections.
41. Open Challenge Classes only, The same Rider/Pony/Horse combination must stand down for 1 year once they have won
the Open Hack or Open Pony Challenge Class. ie the winner of the 2014 Open Pony Challenge and Open Hack Challenge, as
a combination, can not compete again until 2016. The Horse or Pony can compete with a different Rider, just as the Rider can
compete with a different Horse or Pony.
42. Lead Rein Ponies, Rider to be 4 to 7 years of age and ponies up to 128cm. If entering this section, riders are not eligible to
enter any other sections, but the pony, with a different rider, can enter any other sections.
43. First Ridden Ponies, Ponies not to exceed 138cm and Rider to be 6 to 9 years of age. If entering this section, riders are not
eligible to enter any other sections, but the pony, with a different rider, can enter any other sections. Riders are only eligible
to compete in this section for a maximum of 24 months from the date of the first show in First Ridden Section. No cantering
on the circle in this section, but optional in workouts.
44. Led classes are open to ponies or horses of any age, unless an age is stipulated.
45. In horse sections Open or Novice, you can only enter as either a Park Hack, Hack, Saddle Hunter Hack, or Riding Horse,
but you are still able to enter the Sport Horse section.
46. In pony sections Open or Novice, you can only enter as either a Show Pony or a Saddle Hunter Pony, not both.
47. Once you have won the Alison Sampson or Rebecca Peters Memorial Classes, the same horse or pony is no longer
eligible to enter again

Challenge. There will be the led element - pony shown in hand by the owner/ exhibitor and the ridden component -the pony will be ridden by the owner/exhibitor. At the
conclusion of all workouts the ride judge (Simon Deleeuw) will ride the Top 8 ponies.
Although a Top 8 will be awarded, if you want to know where you ranked in the top 8
you can see the secretary
