Manager of Fort Benning Operations

Performs administrative, billing and technical support services for Fort Benning operations,
engineering and metering personnel. Duties include internal/external customer service, job cost
analysis, meter reports, locate tickets, work orders and staking assistance. Completes engineering
administrative work and calculations when needed to maintain accurate records and billing. May
assist in pulling and delivering construction materials to job sites. Provides assistance in other
areas as needed.
Required:
 High school education or equivalent
 Three years’ experience in administrative work including initiating and maintaining efficient
filing systems
 Working knowledge and proficiency in use of database programs requiring skill expansion to
remain current with new and advanced programs or changes
Preferred:
 Experience or business courses in accounts payable
 Experience with Utility Protection Center Training
 Experience working in a construction environment
Required:
 Ability to adapt to changes brought about by the industry and technology by demonstrating
flexibility in changing work assignments, processes and new initiatives; maintains desire and
ability to develop new skills to meet the needs of the position
 Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
 Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player in support of exceptional internal and
external customer service, which should be evidenced from prior work experience
 Desire to work in unison with engineering, operations and metering personnel; ability to interact
with management, peers and contractors
 Ability to communicate, in writing and/or verbally, and to comprehend and relay information
accurately
 Ability to organize and multi-task with specific attention to detail between several on-going
projects on a daily basis
 Ability to handle confidential material with judgment and discretion
 Ability to initiate and complete projects without supervision
 Ability to obtain forklift certification
 Skills to exhibit high degree of accuracy in working with figures, completion of paperwork and
data entry
Preferred:
 Familiarity with utility construction terms
 Background knowledge of line design and line construction
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with one hour for lunch.
OTHER
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Must be able to concentrate on several things at one time. Be alert to give and exchange

Near Visual Acuity - Must be able to see computer screen, keyboard, and read all types of print,
including small figures.

Depth Perception - As necessary for driving and operating equipment.
Night Vision – As necessary for driving.
(Normal Tones) Hears and comprehends spoken conversation over telephone and in person.

Sits a maximum of 2 hours at a time, up to a total of 8 hours per day. Can stand up as needed.
Can change positions at will. Minimal amount of walking.
0 - 50 lbs. Most lifting is done from floor to waist level. Hoists, hand trucks, and pushcarts are
available.
Required to open/close desk drawers and file cabinets, printers, and terminals.
Bends from neck for talking on telephone. Bends from waist to retrieve documents in files and desk
drawers.
Wrist, hand, and arm use is continuous for writing and using a computer, telephone, calculator, and
copier, and performing miscellaneous general office work.
Intermittent.
Job is located indoors in a heated/air-conditioned building. No noise, light, fumes, or dust hazards
present. May occasionally visit outdoor business facilities.
Computer terminal and PC, printer, telephone, calculator, copier, paper, pens, pencils, stapler, and
forklift.
Hardhat, safety glasses, work gloves, and ear protection. Mayday, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive
Driving.
Drug test required for pre-employment and random thereafter. Employment entrance physical
exam required.
