Research Center and experience the flavor of classical Bagua training.
Introduction to Jin Shou Tuina
Saturday, January 17, 2015 - 10am - 12pm (Free)
The Jinshou Tuina of the North American Tang Shou Tao Association represents one of the
cornerstone achievements of a lineage of practitioners devoted to the cultivation of family style
Chinese Medicine, manual therapies, and physical culture. Jinshou Tuina represents a method of
treatment and health maintenance based on the combined understandings of the internal martial
arts of Xingyi Chuan, Bagua Zhang, and Taiji Chuan, the experiential exploration of Chinese
Medicine through physical culture and the application of these to treatment with manual therapy.
This short seminar will provide an overview of practices related to Jinshou Tuina. Participants
will learn about the lineage and the foundational theories and have the opportunity to experience
the practice of exercises and tuina massage techniques.

2015 WINTER PROGRAMS
GONGFU MEDICINE - 12 WEEK PROGRAM (36 hours) with Émilie Breton
Saturdays, February 14 - May 2, 2015
10am - 1pm
$500 (retake 50% off)
Gongfu Medicine means medicine applied by family for family. This course is for anyone who
would like a better understanding of health and disease as seen by Chinese medicine and a
foundation of simple, effective techniques to help safeguard the health and well-being of loved
ones.
Course content includes:
Foundational Chinese Medicine Theory : learn to see the world through the lens of Chinese
Medicine and recognize common processes of health and disease in terms of balance and
compliance with natural laws.
Meridian Qigong : explore the meridian system experientially and learn about the movement
hygiene habits that are fundamental to the maintenance of health and the recovery from illness
Jin Shou Tuina Manual Therapy Techniques : learn a full body massage sequence that
introduces the skills with which you can help your family stay healthy, explore the reality of the
theories of Chinese medicine and lay the foundations for professional certification.
Adjunctive Therapies of Chinese Medicine : techniques which go hand in hand with tuina will
be introduced; moxabustion, cupping, hot packs and poultices.
Emilie Breton has been interested in a holistic approach to alternative health over the last several years.
She is an Assistant-Instructor in Bagua Zhang and Xing-Yi Quan at The Montreal Gongfu Research
Centre and also practices various forms of Qi Gong. A massage therapist in Tuina, Emilie is currently
pursuing acupuncture studies at the Collège de Rosemont while undergoing an apprenticeship under the
guidance of Ethan Murchie and the North American Tang Shou Tao association (NATSTA).
12 Meridian Qigong Weekly Course

Introduction to Xingyi Quan
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings - 6pm - 9pm
January 20 – April 9, 2015
$300
A thorough introduction to the practice of Xingyi Quan. Boxing skills, neigong, meditation, and
health cultivation will be covered. Practice will be focused on Five Element Forms, Lien Huan
Chuan, Dragon Form and related two-person drills. Weekly lectures will cover history, lineage
and theory.
Introduction to Bagua Zhang
Monday and Wednesday Evenings - 6pm - 9pm
January 19 - April 8, 2015
$300
A thorough introduction to the practice of Bagua Zhang. Boxing skills, neigong, meditation, and
health cultivation will be covered. Practice will be focused on Bagua Neigong, Circle Walking
Meditation, Gao Y Shengs Pre-heaven Bagua Sequence and basic two-person exercises.
Womens Self Defense
Friday evenings, 7pm - 8:30pm
February 2015 (TBA)
$160
This three month course offers instruction on simple self-defense techniques against grabs, bear
hugs, punches and other types of attacks, including ground defense. It is based on the foundations
of traditional Chinese gongfu and Kajukenbo Karate. Classes will also incorporate a theory
component covering awareness, avoidance and de-escalation skills.
TCM Cooking Workshop – Spring with Émilie Breton
Sunday, March 14, 2015 – 4pm - 7pm
$30
Learn more about basic principles of the Chinese Medicine diet... all while cooking! Discussion
will include; the flavors, rythms of nature, the theory of the five elements and eating for the
seasons. A good opportunity to develop good eating habits for the Spring.
