MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
“With this change also comes a renewed
focus on developing programs that will
prepare the next generation of Delaware’s
workforce – one that is highly-skilled and
responsive to economic development
opportunities throughout the state and
the surrounding counties.”
Greetings!
For more than four decades, Delaware
Tech’s Corporate and Community Programs
(CCP) division has met the educational and
training needs of Delaware’s business and
industry, individuals seeking professional or
personal development, and our youth. As
Delaware Tech’s new president, let me take this
opportunity to thank the students, companies,
state agencies and community members who
have enrolled in training, partnered with us,
and supported our efforts to create programs
for those we serve.
I am pleased to share that the College’s
CCP division recently began operating under
a new name -- Workforce Development
and Community Education. “Workforce
development” more accurately represents the
extensive range of innovative and relevant
training programs that we offer to help
Delaware’s business remain competitive and its
residents acquire the skills they need to succeed
in the workplace. With this change also comes
a renewed focus on developing programs that
will prepare the next generation of Delaware’s
1
workforce – one that is highly-skilled
and responsive to economic development
opportunities throughout the state and the
surrounding counties. Rest assured that our
Community Education offerings will continue
to provide unique experiences for youth as
well as creative and valuable professional and
personal development opportunities for all
Delawareans.
As you browse through this edition of
our catalog, we hope you will find programs
and courses that meet your educational and
professional goals. If not, we encourage you
to contact the Workforce Development and
Community Education division in your county.
You can find contact information on the next
page of this booklet.

ARC Babysitter Training with

The “My Buddy and Me” program has been
created specifically for young children. The
main objective of this program is to teach
children about safety and care of companion
pets through presentation, song and a
special appearance by the world’s most
loveable dog, “Dolly Dimples”. Children
often want to have a pet in the family, but
understand nothing or little about proper
care of the pet, leaving all the work to
their parents. This program encourages
children to want to help care for their pet
on an active, daily basis. All children will
receive a Dolly and Friends Activity Book,
autographed by the Doggie Diva herself,
“Dolly Dimples.” Requirement: Students
must be accompanied by an adult.

Zumba is a fitness program that combines
Latin and international music with dance
moves. Zumba routines incorporate interval
training — alternating fast and slow rhythms
— and resistance training. An aerobic activity,
Zumba can count toward the 150 minutes
a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75
minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity
recommended for most healthy adults by the
Department of Health and Human Services.
Aerobic exercise reduces health risks, keeps
excess pounds at bay, strengthens your heart
and boosts your mood. If you enjoy Zumba,
you’re also more likely to do it regularly —
and experience its benefits as an aerobic
exercise. Instructor: Heather York
