T
he government of Rajasthan has been successful in anticipating the increase in
power demand, in encouraging renewable energy and also in attracting
private investment. Therefore, with all the eyes on Rajasthan and on upcoming DFC
(Dedicated Freight Corridor), power sector will play a very important role in the
overall economic development of the state .The Government is committed to
create a sustainable & commercial viable power distribution system, robust
transmission system for power evacuation & promote renewable energy,
development for energy security & moving towards low carbon economy to
address the climate change concern. However, Power reform process has been
initiated by State Govt. But even after several years of reforms initiatives, the
technical and financial losses of the state discoms are huge. Power being
concurrent subject, until distribution reforms are initiated at state level, the
financial viability of the sector will be at stake.
Against this backdrop PHD Chamber in association with CNFC Media is organizing
“Rajasthan Power Conclave -2015” in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 12th February
2015. This conclave will focus on the general consciousness among states for
bringing structural reforms in the power distribution sector; the bottlenecks in fast
track execution of power projects and compliance with statutory clearances in
power generation and transmission projects.
The inaugural ceremony would be followed by the round table sessions. Several
eminent Policy Makers and Industry Leaders will be discussing on the issues of
Generation, Transmission and Distribution Sector. The event would be telecast on
ET NOW (Times Group) in "Power News" program.
