Notes from Parent Partners
(AAEC’s Version of a PTA)
Donations to Parent Partners – We need money to build shade.
In the past, Parent Partners has “sold” memberships as a way of asking for donations. We have not done that this year, but we still
need your financial support. Money donated to Parent Partners goes towards everything from enhancing classrooms (like buying
shade for Mr. Grant’s room to teacher appreciation lunches gifts. This year we need more money than in the past because we are
working to get shade for the areas where our students sit to eat lunch and study.
Parent Partners is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible (but not eligible for the state tax credit.) By law,
Parent Partners cannot use money contributed for school tax credits.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY (from a parent of an AAEC Graduate)
I run a non-profit mentorship program called YoungLives for teen mothers in the north Phoenix area and we are in
need of a couple regular volunteers. I need 2 teen-aged girls at least 16 years old to do childcare for our group
meetings. It will be the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6:45pm-9:15pm. They would be responsible for
setting up the childcare room, watching between 2 and 6 children and then cleaning up the room when they are
finished. The location is Tatum and Paradise Lane and we need then through May.
This would give anyone who does their service with us 22.5 hours for this semester. There is also the potential for
an additional 8 hours on the 29th of March at a fundraiser we are holding. I do need to stress that I am looking
for 2 committed girls to help for the entire semester, not just coming every once in a while.
