Plenty of people
miss their share of
happiness. Not because they never
found it, but because they didn’t
stop to enjoy it!
Demonstrative adj.
Tending to show feelings,
especially the open expression of emotion. “A
demonstrative argument.”
The English language has some wonderful collective nouns for the various
groups of animals. We are all familiar with a herd of cows, a flock of chickens, a
school of fish, and a gaggle of geese. Less widely known is a pride of lions, a
murder of crows, and exaltation of doves, and because they look so wise, a parliament of owls. Now consider a group of baboons. They are the loudest, most
dangerous, most obnoxious, and aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.
And the collective noun for baboons? Believe it or not,….a Congress! That explains the things that come out of Washington.
A guy stood over his tee shot for a long time, looking up, looking down, measuring the distance, figuring the wind direction and speed. All this was driving his
golfing partner nuts. Finally, his exasperated partner said, "Just hit the stupid
ball!" The guy answered, "My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse.
I want to make this a perfect shot." "Forget it, man," said the partner. "There's
no way you can hit her from here." (Remember: Silence is sometimes the best
answer.)
Lord, grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the
courage to change the things I can & friends to post my bail when I finally
snap!
ADORABLE ADOPTABLE
I am Marco, a bit of a 'senior' guy. I have been with my loving family since I was a ny ki en, nine years ago. Mom has developed life
threatening allergies to me, and even though it makes me sad to
think of finding a new family, I know it has to be. As you can see, I
am a handsome, healthy boy. I must have an indoor only home as I have no front claws to
defend myself. You might think I have special needs, but if you meet me, you will see that I
am a real "pussycat".

Teacher: Can you think of a solution
to end unemployment?
Student: Yes, I’d put all men on one
island, and the women on another.
Teacher: What would they be doing
then?
Student: Building boats!
