Parshat Bo -Don't hesitate, act in haste!
This year we are going to start a special pre
Bar / Bat Mitzvah program with our
wonderful new Shlichim Yaira and Aviad
Cohen – a program from age 9 onwards. If
your child is becoming Bar / Bat mitzvah in
the next 2-3 years, don't wait till the last
minute for his Jewish education, act in
haste and make sure he is well prepared for
this milestone event in his life.

Weinberg.

“hasty” visit to my sister's wedding.
How many times in life we had a good idea
- a thought about doing something
important, but hesitation and second
thought made it impossible to happen?
Perhaps countless of times.

In this week's Torah reading before leaving
Egypt, Hashem told the People of Israel to
prepare the Pesach offering, but it has to
be eaten in haste: “So shall you eat it: your


loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and
your staff in your hand; you shall eat it in
haste - it is Pesach offering to Hashem”

(Shemot 12, 11).
Although Hashem gave the people time to
prepare the Pesach offering, the
commandment was still to eat it in haste.
As the Pesach offering was the first
individual Mitzvah of the entire Torah it
was important to teach us to act in haste.
If the people may had to think a little bit
more about their actions, we might have
had to stay in Egypt until this very day...
The debate whether to act or not would
have taken us forever.
Sometimes, too much thinking is just an
excuse to avoid acting.
How many times did you want to go for a
run, or exercise outside but it was too hot
(It's never too hot in Auckland!) or too
cold? How many times did you want to
come to Shule but it was too late, or too
hot or cold or something that made you
decide not to come...?

When then does one need to hesitate? If a
negative thought comes into your head,
don't act in haste. If you're already running
and you feel all your body is aching,
suddenly a thought comes into your head
telling you to quit, think twice about your
goal, don't give up so quickly...

Shabbat Shalom Dear Community,
Mazal Tov Ariella Weinberg on your Bat Mitzvah this week! Although we don't know
you so well yet, we know you have worked very hard to reach this point and we wish
you a smooth entrance into Jewish adulthood. Also, Mazal Tov to Reuven Gooding
on your Bar Mitzvah last week, you did a great job! Mazal Tov to Arnold Triester on
your 90th(!) birthday. It is such a pleasure to celebrate all of these smachot with
such a wonderful community.
This week, on Wednesday, we sent off Evan Rosin to Israel on the Bnei Akiva ShnatHachshara ("year of training") Limmud programme. Evan, along with three
Wellingtonians, Yarden Grinberg Ariel Rosenbaum and Benya Klapaukh will be
experiencing an enriching year of Israeli culture and lifestyle, learning, living, giving
to society and gaining a lifetime experience. The programme contains sessions of
volunteer work, Kibbutz, Jewish studies, IDF experience and more. We wish them
all Hatzlacha Rabba, and look forward to seeing them back here with great energy
to lead and to enhance our Jewish communities and Bnei Akiva.
Behatzlacha to all those beginning their school year this week and in the upcoming
weeks, Yelchu Me'Chail El Cahil, may they go from strength to strength (Psalms 84
,8).
On a more personal note, this week we moved into our home and are settling in,
thanks again to all who have been helping us along the way.
We are very excited to begin the year! Keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming
events 
