This workshop with focus on the caregiver/child dyad and the
importance of attachment on a child’s emotional, social,
mental, and physical well being. Play will be used throughout
the training and show how critical the first relationship is to
future functioning.
With Distinguished Presenter:
Aseye Allah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a
Registered Play Therapist who has been working with under
served populations in Long Beach, Ca. She is a Clinical
Supervisor but also has a Private Practice. Aseye works
specifically with children, youth and families that have
experienced trauma and are experiences emotional, social or
mental health impairments. Aseye specializes in work with
children and caregivers from birth to 5 years old.

Objectives:
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
1. After the session participants will be able to list three ways
that using attachment styles in play therapy contribute to social
and emotional health.
2. After the session participants will be able to use three play
therapy techniques focused on rebuilding the caregiver and
child relationship.
3. After the session, participants will be able to demonstrate to
parents/caregivers three play therapy parenting interventions
to address client symptoms in the home setting.
4. After the session, participants will be able to identify three

Instructional Level: Beginner / Intermediate
Audience Pre-Requisites:
This seminar is intended for intermediate play therapists and
mental health practitioners. Attendees should be
knowledgeable in areas pertaining to clinical treatment of
sexually abused children and adolescents. In addition,
attendees should have a basic foundation and knowledge of
play therapy including courses on play therapy theory and play
therapy application.
Who Should Attend:
Social Workers, Marriage, Family & Child Therapists, School
Counselors, Psychologists, Students, and Interns.
Continuing Education:
This workshop meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing
education credit for MFTs & LCSWs as required by the California
Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider # PCE 1007) and for 6
hours of continuing education as required by the Association
for Play Therapy (APT). The California Association for Play
Therapy (CALAPT) is approved by APT to offer continuing
education specific to play therapy (Provider # 00-094). CALAPT
is approved by the American Psychological Association to
sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Psychologists
may receive 6 hours of continuing education credit for this
workshop. CALAPT maintains responsibility for this program and
its content.
