Pre-Baptismal Classes: As the primary educators of
their child, the parents/guardians and godparents have
the most important influence on the faith development
of children and parishes must provide catechesis for
them before their child is baptized. Notre Dame de la
Mer Parish offers six Baptism Preparation Classes
throughout the year.
It is important for the expectant parents/
guardians to arrange to attend a session well before
the birth and Baptism of the child. Contact the parish
offices for more information. The next class is
scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 9:30 to
11:00 AM.

Lazarus House
Feast of St. Blaise
Tuesday, February 3, is the feast of St. Blaise, the day when
we, as Catholics, participate in the beautiful tradition of having our
throats blessed. To do this, the priest blesses two candles, generally
by a prayer, and then holds each in a crossed position on the throat
of the person being blessed.
Why does this blessing of the throat take place on the feast
of St. Blaise? St. Blaise, a physician and bishop, asked God to cure
a child who was choking to death on a fish bone and the child's life
was saved. Thus, St. Blaise is the patron saint of healthy throats.
This weekend at all the Masses we will have a general
blessing of throats. On Tuesday morning at Mass we will bless
throats individually.
Stewardship Prayer
“Brothers and sisters: I should like you to be free of anxieties.”
1Corinthians 7:32A
How much anxiety do we bring upon ourselves by constantly
worrying about not having enough or attaining more things? God
won’t necessarily give you everything you want, but He will
provide His STEWARDS with everything they need. Try this – use
the word “pray” instead of the word “worry” in the future.
Your gift of treasure
last week came to $9,783
Last year’s collection came to $8,570
Thank you for your generosity.
"For
I was hungry and you gave me food"...
Thank you for your kind donations
to Lazarus House emergency food pantry.
We welcome all donations of food delivered
to Lazarus House on any Monday,
Wednesday or Friday, between 10:00am and
12:00 noon, or placed in one of the baskets
at the doors of the churches. All donations to
poor boxes, plus cash, checks, gift cards or
in memory of someone or bequests
identified for Lazarus House, in any
collection or sent to the parish offices, go
directly to help provide food and other
essentials for those in need in our
community.
We are always in need of cereal,
pasta, tuna fish, peanut butter, hot chocolate,
oatmeal, canned stews, pasta sauce and chili.
Thank you.
On Sunday March 1, 2015, at the request of
Bishop Sullivan, the Camden Diocese will
conduct its second annual food drive
throughout the diocese, with a goal of
collecting 100,000 pounds of food to be
donated to food pantries in our area.
Report Sexual Abuse
1-800-964-6588
Sexual abuse is a crime that must be reported, investigated and
responded to so that victims are protected and those who commit abuse
are removed from ministry.
A special toll free number has been established to help callers
report cases of sexual abuse by priests, religious, employees and/or
volunteers. In accord with state law, cases of child sexual abuse are
reported to the NJ Division of Child Protection Permanency.
For information or to inquire about counseling and support
services, contact the Victims Assistance Coordinator at 1-800-964-6588.
As part of our “Parish Lenten Sacrifice” we
will be participating in this effort to collect
food for those in need. Most importantly, the
diocese has agreed that any food we collect
will be donated to Lazarus House,
emergency food pantry to feed those in need
throughout the Wildwoods.
On Ash Wednesday February 18, and at the
Masses during the weekend of February 2122 we will distribute paper shopping bags
for you to place food in the bags and bring
them to Mass on Sunday March 1, (or
Saturday February 28). All food donations
will be weighed and go towards the goal of
the diocese.

The Christ Child Society
The Christ Child Society is in need of hand-made afghans
and sweater and hat sets in pink, blue or white
for our layettes. If you can knit or crochet, we
will provide the yarn. Layettes are given to
newborn babies in need. If you have an interest
in helping children in need, please consider
joining the Christ Child Society. No special talents are
required, but some of our members sew, knit, crochet, shop, do
computer work and have fun just helping with
fundraisers. For more information, call 609-602-7682.
Electronic or “e-Giving” is available to parishioners and
friends of Notre Dame de la Mer Parish. It’s easy to set up,
and YOU have complete control of how and what you
donate to the parish. It’s convenient, consistent, and secure
and insures privacy. To register, and set up your personal
account, go to Notre Dame de la Mer Parish Web Page
and click on the link on the front page.
Please follow the directions. And if you’re
interested, coupon slips can be printed so you have
something to place in the collection baskets.
If you have questions, or concerns, there is a FAQ
section that should help you in your decision. In the weeks
ahead, we will publish some of the frequently asked
questions. Be sure to visit Parish Pay. Thank you for your
generosity.
