Try reading it when you wake up when you lie down for bed, praising God for the freedoms you enjoy. • Verses 3–6 rehearse the story of God emancipating Israel from the bonds of slavery. This month, as we think about racial reconciliation as an act of justice, pray daily for God to free the United States of America from systemic racism. Prayer changes hearts; prayer changes things. • In Hebrew, the words for awe and fear have the same root. Motivated by awe of the Lord, THE OPENING ACT — Sundays, 4:30–5:50 PM • Conference Room — Join us for an education group where we will explore creative and inspiring ideas about spirituality, justice, theology, and more. For more information, contact Jim Kast5 Keat at jimkastkeat@middlechurch.org. Pray Please pray with us this week for these people and concerns: John Dyett; the African continent; Europe; the Middle East; Zen Browne, Gloria Moy; Asia; Sierra Sue Goodale; Djana Maria Hughes; Mr. Jerome Artis; Boyd family; Nkhereanye family; Middle Church family; the world family. rather than fear of the Lord, what might you do differently in your personal life to keep God’s commandment to love God, neighbor, and self? LAST WEEK: WHAT’S IN YOUR HAND? • This week, set aside a period for meditation and reflection. During this time, reflect on what you feel is the core of your nature. What is your make5up? • Next, reflect on: Where do you see God in this? Where do you see room for personal growth? • Finally, reflect on: How do you see this reflected in who you are and how you present yourself? What would shift as you continue to grow into your relationship with God? WELCOME TO MIDDLE CHURCH. We are glad you are here today. You were super during Gift to Bring season. Together, we raised more than $250,000 in the first half of our fiscal year! Remember that there are several ways to give—including sponsoring a brick in our newly renovated Church House, directing donations to one of our funds, and giving online.
