Effective July 1st, the North Carolina immunization law will change for the 2015-2016 school year. Previously, students entering the 6th grade were required to have a tetanus booster (Tdap). With the new law, the Tdap will not be required until your student is ready to enter the 7th grade (one year later). Additionally, the revision now includes that rising 7th graders also receive the Meningococcal vaccine. (A second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine will be given prior to the 12th grade year.) If you have any questions regarding this new immunization law, please call Nurse Wilson at 256-2769. You do not need to be a runner to get involved with this wonderful program! The club offers a safe, nurturing environment where girls in grades 3-6 walk or run at their own pace, learn the importance of making healthy decisions, and build friendships. Beginning in March, we will meet every Monday and Wednesday after school for an hour. If you are interested in coaching or assisting, or if you have any questions, please call Tammy Minami (828-320-5110). Do you want to help a great cause, have some fun, and help our school earn money? Consider participating in the NC Troopers Footchase 5K!
