Meet Information
Meet Information: Welcome to the third annual SPIRE Division I Track & Field Invitational. 51 NCAA national qualifying
performances were posted last year at the event, and we look forward to breaking many more in 2015.
Timing & Results: Fully Automatic Timing will be provided by Lightning Timing. Live results will be available online at
www.lightningtiming.com. If you wish to have your results emailed to your Sports Information Director as well, please
provide his or her email to before Friday, February 13, 2015.
Practice Times: The track will be available for practice during designated times. Please see the schedule of events for
details.
Hotels: Please note that per the meet contract, teams may only stay at the approved hotels using the reference codes
listed. Please contact Traveling Teams – Bret Gove (866-468-3268 x 814) or Bret@TravelingTeams.com for your team
reservations.
Parking: Bus & Team Parking will be available free of charge on the north side of the Track Facility.
Outside Food/Beverage: OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE ARE PROHIBITED AT SPIRE INSTITUTE. SPIRE
operates full service cafeteria in FUEL and the concessions will be available during the event. Note: Athletes are allowed to
bring bottled water, sports drinks, and a small snack, permitted they are brought in each athlete’s separate bag.
Locker Rooms: There are locker rooms with full shower facilities available for athletes. Towels and locks must be provided
by athletes.
Participant Seating: Athletes are permitted to sit in the lower bleacher sections of the spectators seating. Teams are
asked to save the red captain’s chairs for spectators!
Spectator Seating: Only spectators with tickets are permitted to be seated in the red captain’s chairs at the top of the
spectator seating. These areas will be monitored by ushers.
Pole Shipping: Please ship all poles to SPIRE Institute / Attn. Christine Stancliff / 5201 SPIRE Circle / Geneva, OH 44041
Tickets: Adults $10, Students, Seniors, and retired military (with ID) $5, Active Military (with ID) and Children under 6 Free.
Trainer: SPIRE will provide a certified athletic trainer, who will be stationed near the finish line. If your institution is not
bringing a training staff and would like to make arrangements, please contact the meet manager by February 1st, 2015.
Training Facilities / Amenities: Ice and heat will be available during the course of the meet in the training area South of
the Finish Line.

Lane Preference: For the 200 and 400 dashes, lane preference will be as follows: 6, 7, 8, 5, 4,3,2,1
Field Event Flights: The order of flights will flow so the best athletes will compete in the final flights. Athletes will be given
3 attempts, with the top 8 advancing to finals for 3 additional attempts.
Throwing Implement Weigh-in: Implement weigh-in will be: Friday 12:30pm to 1:45pm and Saturday 8:15 am to 9:45
am.

Facility
Sports come to life at SPIRE Institute. Here, every sport
enjoys an Olympic-grade backdrop – whether played in our
750,000 square feet of indoor facilities – or in our beautiful,
multi-purpose outdoor stadiums and turf fields complex. In
2011, the 240,000 square foot Indoor Track’s first full year
of operation, SPIRE hosted events such as the first annual
SPIRE Division I Track & Field Invitational, the Horizon
League Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field
Championships, Big East Men’s and Women’s Conference
Championship, and the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National
Championships, along with other collegiate and high school
meets. The track & field facility if equipped with the
following:








8-lane, 300-meter Beynon track, with wide radius
Separate field event area (2 high jump, 2 long
jump, 2 pole vault pits, 2 shot put circles and
portable weight throw cages) that does not
interfere with track events
Olympic standard custom Lynx timing and scoring
system, with a 9’ x 13’ Daktronics video board
State-of-the-art sound system, lighting and
temperature control
Full locker room facilities
Spectator capacity up to 5,000 with 2 separate
mezzanine viewing areas that overlook the track &
field
A 25,000 sq. ft. glass-encased banquet, hospitality and meeting space overlooks the indoor track facility. Features
include tiered dining/viewing areas, expansive banquet hall, private conference room and custom designed kitchen

SPIRE Institute will be offering high-quality, healthy and affordable buffet-style meals made available in their 25,000 sq. ft.
Banquet Center overlooking the track facility. Many teams took advantage of this opportunity last year, and we look forward
to hosting teams once again. Special Team Pricing includes beverages, and is set at $8 for breakfast, $10 for Lunch,

Michael Johnson Performance
SPIRE is proud to welcome Michael Johnson to its Leadership Board, and the Michael Johnson Performance Center to its
brand new 25,000 sq. ft. training facility. MJP was brought to SPIRE for one reason only. We want nothing but the best for
our athletes. Improved athletic performance in the competitive arena requires more than just perfecting sport relevant
skills. At SPIRE, our students will become more proficient athletes via improved speed, agility, quickness, strength and
endurance. Under the leadership of the hand picked Director, Bryan McCall, MJP will custom design, in conjunction with the
Director of each sport, the long term athletic performance development program best suited to every athlete at SPIRE.
Top coaching, the latest technology and the best equipment are all core to MJP at SPIRE. Combine these elements with
world-class sport specific training in multiple sports, sports medicine/therapy, mental conditioning, nutritional guidance and
leadership/communication skills training – and you have one of the most unique sports training environments in the world
today.
Training Programs
MJP provides in season and off season training sessions, biomechanical analysis, remote coaching, physical therapy and
injury prevention programs for youth, college and professional athletes and teams in all sports.

SPIRE Fit
SPIRE Fit, SPIRE’s on-site health and wellness center, is available for athlete and spectator use over the course of the
weekend. SPIRE Fit offers a variety of family, individual, senior and short term memberships for those who desire a "best in
class" workout environment. Health, wellness and exercise are at the center of the SPIRE vision and SPIRE Fit promotes
the values of these components for all of our members
SPIRE Fit features the latest equipment from some of the finest brands in exercise equipment it including: Jacobs Ladder,
CYBEX, Life Fitness, Keiser, Marpo Kinetics and more. ADA compliant equipment is also available. Group exercise classes

We encourage all family and friends to attend the 2015 Division I Invitational. In addition to the Invite, parents can take
advantage of the fitness center, group fitness classes, open swims, the SPIRE Fuel dining facility, and many other
