Nepean Area Rally 2015
Beaver Buggies • Kub Kars • Scout Trucks
Nepean Rally 2015 Kub Kar and Scout Truck Building & Racing Guidelines:
1. The wood in the original kit may cut, carved, hollowed out and built up to the maximum weight and
height by the addition of wood or metal. No loose materials are permitted.
2. Details such as steering wheels, drivers, decals, and paintings are permissible as long as the details
do not cause the vehicle to exceed the weight, height, length or width specifications (see table below).
3. The forward most end of the vehicle should be minimum width of 14mm (1/2”) and it must sit
squarely on the track starting pin. No part may project past the starting pin.
4. Only original Scouts Canada wheels and axle nails are permitted. All four wheels must be installed.
Minimum of three wheels must contact the track surface.
5. The wheels and axle nails may be de-burred and flashing removed. The wheel tread surface may be
smoothed but the original diameter and width must not be altered. The edges of the wheels must not
be rounded over, chamfered or reduced from the original contact width. No other alterations are
permitted.
6. Only powdered graphite may be used for lubrication. On race day, only the Pit Crew can apply
additional graphite. This is necessary to contain the mess made by graphite powder.
7. The vehicle must be freewheeling with no moving or sliding starting devices or other mechanical
assistance and may only be propelled by the force of gravity.
8. The following are prohibited: weights inside the wheels, wheel bearings, washers, bushings, springs
and any other suspension devises, sliding or moving parts.
9. At sign-in, the vehicle will be weighed and inspected for compliance to the above rules and
specifications below.
10. No vehicle modifications are permitted after sign-in. Emergency repairs may be carried out only if
damaged by racing or being accidentally dropped. A member of the Pit Crew must inspect the repairs
and re-check the weight before the vehicle is permitted to be race again.
11. If a vehicle leaves the track on the first run, the race will be restarted. If the same vehicle leaves
the track on the second run, the vehicle automatically receives last place for that race.
