The St. Andrew Respect Life Ministry will be hosting a
series of "Life Affirming Seminars" this Lenten Season.
Topics to be covered include, "Called to Life-Giving Love",
"To The End of Our Days", "Pornography: A Crime Against
Marriage and The Family", and "Marriage and Family: A
Revelation of the Inner life of God". The Seminars will be
held Monday evenings at 7:00 PM, March 2, 9, 16,
and 23 in Msgr. McGettigan Hall, and will be presented
by Mr. Steve Bozza of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan
Family, Life & Laity Office. All are welcome to attend! What is Eucharistic Adoration? During the Mass the
Priest (during the consecration) speaks these words as
he holds the communion host, “…He took bread and
gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his
disciples, and said: Take this all of you, and eat it: this
is my body which will be given up for you”. When the
priest says “this is my body”, it is at that instant when,
through the miracle of transubstantiation, the bread and
wine which we offer as the bloodless sacrifice to our
Lord truly become the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of
Jesus. It is His true Presence in the form of bread and
wine. It is Christ.
What do you actually do during adoration? You may
sign up to be an “adorer” which allows you to schedule
yourself for one (or more) hour per week to pray before
the very presence of Our Lord, exposed in the
monstrance. It means that you have some time alone
with Jesus to recite your favorite prayers, read the bible,
contemplate acts of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving,
reparation, pray a rosary or do whatever type of
prayerful devotion that suits you before Our Lord. You
can just sit and say nothing simply keeping Him
company, just as you would with a dear friend.
“The Eucharist is the heart of the Church. Where
Eucharistic life flourishes, there the life of the church will
blossom.”
(St. Pope John Paul II)
“When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how
much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the
Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves
you now.” (Blessed Mother Teresa)
“A cloud of incense was rising on high; the people
suddenly all bowed low; what could it mean? The Truth
flashed on Him, fearfully yet sweetly; it was the Blessed
Sacrament – it was the Lord Incarnate who was on the
altar; who had come to visit and bless his people. It
was the Great Presence which makes a Catholic
Church different from every other place in the world;
which makes it, as no other place can be – holy.” –
John Henry Cardinal Newman, Loss and Gain: The
Story of a Convert
“What Christ gives us is quite explicit if His own words
are interpreted according to their Aramaic meaning. The
expression ‘This is My Body’ means ‘This is Myself.”

Joseph’s People of Central
Delco Job Search Group
Joseph’s People of Central Delco –
Job Search Group
Despite what is being reported about employment
rates and the rising stock market, good people are
still losing their jobs. Through no fault of the
worker, jobs are still being eliminated or relocated away
from our region. In record numbers,
members of our parish community continue to be
unemployed or under-employed; meaning they are
not working a full work week or earning
significantly less than they were accustomed.
St Laurence has joined Joseph’s People of Central
Delco (Delaware County) to minister to the needs
of the un and under-employed. Joseph’s People
utilizes experts within the employment and job
search arenas who explain job search strategies
which will progress the job seeker toward full
employment.
There is NEVER a fee to attend a Joseph’s People
event. Non-parish members are always welcome.
Joseph’s People of Central Delco offers three
meetings each month. Each meeting begins at
7PM. Meeting locations are:
St. Mary Magdalen Church
2400 N. Providence Road
Media, PA 19063
Meets 1st Tues. of each month in the
St. Francis Room
St. Laurence Church
8245 West Chester Pike
Upper Darby, PA
Meets 2nd Tues. of each month in the Parish Hall
(Enter from the rear church parking lot near St.
Laurence Road)
Media Presbyterian Church
30 E. Baltimore Avenue
Media, PA 19063
Meets 3rd Tuesdays of the month in
