MAGIC MOMENTS
CONGRATULATIONS to Diane and Andrew Tuttleberg who welcomed their beautiful, healthy baby girl yesterday 11 February 2015!!
Congratulations to Grace Cochrane (Grade 7P) who received a SILVER MEDAL at the National Judo Ranking
Competition which was held last weekend in Stellenbosch. She is ranked 2nd in South Africa in her grouping. What
an achievement! Well done, Grace! We are very proud of you! (Photo on page 2).

VALENTINE’S ‘CIVVIES’ DAY
All learners are invited to come to school tomorrow – Friday, 13 February – in predominantly red/white/pink
civvies in keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme. This is a fun ‘civvies’ day for which there is no charge.
SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY (SGB) ELECTIONS: MARCH 2015
If you are interested in being on the SGB or want to know more about being an SGB member, please email me at
head@bayprimary.co.za. The proposed date for the elections will be Wednesday, 11 March. Nomination forms are
available from both campuses. If you would like to be considered for the SGB, please collect a nomination form
from the school.

SWIMMING PRACTICE CANCELLED
Swimming on Friday, 13 February has been cancelled because Muizenberg Junior is having a Gala. We apologise for
any inconvenience caused.
BAY RUNNERS
There will be no Bay Runners on Monday, 16 February as Mrs Mackintosh has to attend a compulsory HOD
workshop.
VALENTINE’S DISCO
Valentine’s Disco, hosted by the Grade 7s to raise funds for the school, will be on Friday, 13 February from 18:30 to
21:30 at the SPC. Grades 5, 6 and 7 learners are invited.

CAMP FEE PAYMENTS
Please make a separate payment for camp fees – either by EFT or cash. Please use the reference: camp & child’s
surname. No camp fees will be deducted from the ordinary school fee payments.
SWIMMING GALA
The swimming gala will be held on 20 March at the Simons Town Navy Pool.
BAY PRAYING PARENTS GROUP

LOST PROPERTY
Please ensure that all of your child's uniform items are CLEARLY marked with his/her name as any unmarked items
will be sent to the uniform shop to be sold as second-hand.
BAY ALUMNI
We’ll be introducing an Alumni programme this year targeting past pupils and the community. Mrs Anderson will
be chairing our Past Pupils Association. If you would like to be part of this exciting project please contact Mrs

HAIR AND UNIFORM CHECK
The next hair and uniform check will be on Monday, 2 March 2015.
HATS AND CAPS
Please be reminded that hats and caps are compulsory during the 1 st and 4th terms. Please do not send your
children to school with a CIVVIES cap. The caps have arrived and can be purchased from the Clothing Shop.
SCHOOL BAGS
Only branded Bay school bags are allowed. They can be purchased at the Clothing Shop.
RECYCLING
The school collects cans, glass, paper, plastic tops, bread tags and ink/toner cartridges.
HOMEWORK CLASS @ BAY
