Houston Northwest Community Center will open a thrift shop on
Monday, March 2 at 17111-A Kieth Harrow Drive. Located across from
the Glencairn Community Center, the shop will offer gently-used
clothing and a limited number of household items at bargain prices.
Proceeds will help to fund the programs of HNWCC, a non-profit 501
(c)(3) organization which serves the community.
Store hours will be Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am to 2:30pm
and Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Donations will be accepted
on Saturdays, only during store hours.
Plans are for the thrift shop to be self-supporting through donations, sale of goods, and volunteer hours.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 28, when the Bear Creek
UMC Youth presents Night on the Town: Love in Action, an extraordinary
evening of gourmet food and fellowship. The fun begins at 6:00pm right
here on our Bear Creek UMC campus.
The event provides an opportunity for BCUMC family and friends to
come together and assist with the cost of youth camps and mission trips
and to provide scholarships to those in need.
Dinner will be catered by Daniel Millerhouse, a private chef and owner
of Heirloom, a catering business that uses organic, locally-grown ingredients whenever possible. The menu will feature roasted tomato basil
bisque, olive oil poached pork tenderloin, and for dessert, French toast
sticks.
Festivities will include a silent auction, live auction and photo booth.
Dinner is $20 per person or $35 per couple. You may pay and make your
reservation in the Bear Creek UMC Courtyard, today, February 15, and the
next Sunday, February 22. Reservations may also be made in the BCUMC
Office.

If you are visiting Bear Creek United Methodist Church
for the first time, please stop by the Welcome Center in
the Courtyard after the service to receive a reusable shopping bag which contains a silver tumbler and other goodies.
Additional tumblers are available for $10 each, and shopping bags are $3 each at the Welcome Center. Proceeds
from both items allow BCUMC to give mugs and shopping
bags to our first-time guests.

Do you cook…or order takeout?
Parents and other adults are needed to provide supper
for Bear Creek Youth (a group of about 20) on Sundays at
5:00pm.
Suggestions include hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, pizza,
cold cut or grilled cheese sandwiches, and munchies such as
chips or carrot and celery sticks with salsa or dips. Help serving the meal
is appreciated, but not required.

You’re invited to visit the Children’s Treehouse in Room 202 of the Family Life Center to

The colorful area now features window
shutters, which give the room an authentic
feel, and a kid-size stage for youngsters to
lead worship.

Jesus and Me Ministry for kids with special needs
Children with special needs may enroll in Bear Creek UMC’s Jesus
and Me Ministry, a personalized Sunday school program based on

CHILDREN’S MISSION FOCUS: Brave Bully Rescue
The Children’s Mission Focus for January/February is Brave Bully
Rescue, an organization that rehabilitates stray pit bulls.
Brave Bully Rescue’s wish list includes:
 Kirkland grain-free food (any flavor) from Costco
(or money to purchase this food)
 Purina Proplan wet food for puppies and chicken
and rice variety for adult dogs
 dog toys and treats
 42-inch kennels and beds
Donations may be left in the church office.

Fellowship Friday, an Energizers outreach ministry,

family members with mild to moderate memory loss
who do not require skilled care. This program, a partnership between Interfaith CarePartners and BCUMC,
is designed to give caregivers some much needed time

Mothers Of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is a group of women with children 5 years
old and younger, who share a love for their families
and enjoy fellowship with other moms going through
the same (although very brief) journey in life. MOPS

month (during the school year), 9:30-11:30am, in the
Fellowship Hall, with a great MOPPETS program in the
