Dear Parents, Carers, Children, Staff, Governors and Parishioners,
Congratulations to Mrs Copland and her husband, Ollie, on the birth of their first child,
Tristan Oliver Reeve, who arrived last Saturday weighing in at 7lbs 2ozs. We welcome
Tristan to the world and hope to meet him soon in school.

This weekend Archbishop Bernard Longley, Archbishop of the Birmingham Diocese, will be visiting our
parish to meet the people and review the parish catholic life. He will be celebrating Mass at 9.00am and talking
with a variety of parishioners. Come and join Archbishop Bernard for a cup of tea and share your views after
9.00am Mass.
Altar Server Training ~ A series of altar serving practices will start on Thursday 22nd January 2015 at
3.30pm, after school. Any boys or girls from Y4 upwards who would like to learn how to minister at the altar
should attend Church at the above time and be accompanied by an adult. Mr Malcolm Pollard will be leading
the training sessions. Parental consent must be given for each trainee.
Confirmation ~ On Thursday, Y6 Children participated in a retreat at Princethorpe Centre, in preparation for
receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday 30th January. Bishop William Kenney will be celebrating the Mass
at 6.30pm and will be visiting the children on Friday 23rd January to see how much the children know about the
sacrament. There will be a rehearsal for children, parents and sponsors at 6.30pm on Wednesday 21st January in
Church.
Movies and Munchies - the PTFA are showing 'Maleficent' next Friday 23rd January, for years 3-6. Tickets are £3
per child and include a drink and snack. Drop off at 5.30pm for a 5.45pm prompt start, pick up 7.45pm. Tickets will
be available to buy from the Community room 3-3.30pm Mon-Thurs and Friday morning (if there not already sold
out!). Spaces limited to 100 pupils.
ECO Council ~ This week we installed to office the members of our ECO
Comittee. You will be able to recognise them from their green badges. Now
that we have our full area of school grounds there is much work to be done to
care for and develop the site so we look forward to joining the Committee with Mrs Kelly and Mrs Sullivan, as
they develop their action plan for the next two terms. Congratulations to Grace 2M, Elisha 2T, Scarlet 3M,
Kamsi 3T, Niamh 4T, Thomas 4T, Orla 5M, Grace 5T, Pranav 5M, Oliwia 6M and Hannah 6M.
Reminder ~ Dogs are not permitted on site, regardless of whether they are accompanied,
with the exception of guide dogs for the blind. They should not be brought into the car park
on a lead or tied to any fencing where children have to pass beside.

The School Council members were inaugurated in their roles of office last Wednesday
at our WOW assembly where they received their ties of office – new this year
embellished with the school coat of arms.
The Year 6 members introduced themselves to the school community sharing their roles of responsibility ~ Tia, Daniel,
Jessica, Bethany, Sam, Ella, Alfie, Joseph, Brooke, Mara-Jade, Uday, Katie (6M), Gosia, Aniela and Katie (6T).
WOW! Let’s celebrate! ~ Congratulations to the children who were this week’s Stars of the
Week by showing excellent effort in their learning. Awards went to: RT Amari, RM Jack, 1T
Sean, 1M Lucah, 2T Pranay ,2M Rose,3T Natalia,3M Imaan, 4T Tallulah, 4M Sammy, 5T Brijal,
5M Aadithya, 6T Max, 6M Katie. Well done to all o‰ our Superstars!
Mary’s Meals Backpack Project ~ Thank you for the used back packs already received and we look forward to
receiving more, following Christmas gifts! We have started to collect basic educational materials (pencils, crayons,
notebooks etc) to fill the backpacks before sending them to the children supported by Mary’s Meals.
