THE LEEDS SPORTS AWARDS 2015
Brought to you by Sport Leeds, the Leeds
Sports Awards celebrate the outstanding
achievements of our city in the sporting world,
from rising stars and volunteers, through to
professional teams and everything in between.
This coming together of high profile attendees
and award winners offers you the opportunity
to join an inspirational event which has
time and again proven itself to be the most
glamorous event on the Leeds sporting
calendar.
The awards recognise a huge range of
sports, paying homage to individual, team
and coaching excellence, as well as praising
those who dedicate their lives to sport through
voluntary work, and an unending range of
work behind the scenes for sport in our city.
Previous winners at the event include the
Leeds Rhinos (Rugby), the Brownlee brothers
(Triathlon), Nicola Adams MBE (Boxing),
Daniel Cammish (Motor Racing), Claire O’Hara
(Canoeing) and Ali Jawad (Powerlifting). In
addition the prestigious Lifetime Achievement
award has recognised a range of Leeds’
sporting heroes and advocates, including
SportsAid founder Cyril Villiers MBE, Ryder
Cup star Howard Clark and former British
Lions coach Sir Ian McGeechan to name
just a few.
Nominations for the 2015 awards open in
September 2014 and will close in December
2014. The finalists will then be announced in
January 2015.

of the largest higher education colleges
in the country and over a thousand
voluntary sports clubs, Leeds is quite
