Sharing our Joys and Concerns Silent Meditation and Pastoral Prayer Community Prayer of Confession Unison Lord, I confess that: I have had longings and nudges from You which I did not translate into action. I have made decisions without consulting You, then have blamed You when things went wrong. I have said that I trusted You, yet have not turned my affairs over to You. I have been greedy for present delight and pleasure, unwilling to wait for those joys which time and discipline alone can give. *Please stand, as you are able. I have often sought the easy way, and have consistently drawn back from the road that is hard. I have been fond of giving myself to dreams, which I am going to do sometime, yet have been so slow in getting started doing them. Forgive me for all the intentions that were born and somehow never lived… And now, Loving Father, I claim Your promise to change me. Do, Lord, for me what I cannot do for myself. Lead me into a new tomorrow with a new spirit. Cleanse my heart, create in me new attitudes and new ideas, as only You can create them! And praise the Spirit who imparts God’s love in Christ into our hearts. Amen. Prayer of Thanksgiving All: May the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts, be acceptable in Thy sight, O God, our Rock and our Redeemer! (Psalm 19: 14) Scripture Focus Matthew 13: 31-33, 44-52 Bible p. 795 Scriptural Response Leader: The Word of God, for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God. Sermon “Hidden Treasures” Pastor Steven K. Warren *Hymn of Dedication The Spirit Sends Us Forth to Serve FWS #2241 Taking the Light of Christ’s Blessings into the World Benediction Postlude Litanies Jim Ruth, Organist Jehan Alain Composer’s note: "W hen, in its distress, the Christian soul can find no new word to implore God's mercy, it tirelessly repeats the same plea with vehement faith. Reason has reached its limit. Faith alone can go farther." The flowers on the altar this morning were given by Con and Sharon Tsang in honor of Rupert’s 2nd birthday.
