Activating Your Account
FOR PARTICIPANTS OF US ISSUERS

This guide will help you to activate your Shareworks account and login to the application for the first time.
Note:
You can see all the activation methods on the Request Activation Screen, but depending on your company’s set up, some
activation methods may not be available.
To begin using Shareworks®, you need to activate your account. The activation process is simple and only takes a few
minutes. There are four ways to activate your Shareworks account:

If you are activating your account using a company email, please see Activating an Account with a Company
Email.

If you are activating your account with activation link you have received through an email, please see Activating
an Account with an Activation Link.

If you are activating your account using an activation code, please see Activating your Account with an
Activation Code.

If you are activating your account with a company ID and password, please see Activating an Account with a
Company ID and Password.
For information about logging into your account once your account has been activated, please see Logging into
Shareworks.

Activating an Account with a Company Email
Step 1
Open Account
Go to
http://Shareworks.solium.com/activate
and select the My company email
address radio button.
Step 2
Request Account Activation
Enter your Company Email and the
captcha code you see in the image into
the text box.
Once you have entered a Company
Email and captcha code, click Continue.

A confirmation message appears. An
email with an activation link will be
delivered to your company email.
For more information on activating an
account with an activation link, please
see Activating an Account with an
Activation Link.
Notes:
The activation link delivered to your
company email is only active for 30
minutes once it is delivered. If you do not
receive an email with a link, please
contact the Participant Services Group.

Activating an Account with an Activation Link
Step 1
Click the Activation Link
An activation link would have been sent
to your company email. For access to the
activation link, find the email, and once in
the email, click the Activate my account
link.
Notes:
The activation link in the email delivered to your company email has an expiration time. If you requested an account
activation with your company email, the activation link has an expiration time of 30 minutes. If you were sent an account
activation email with an activation link the expiration time is based on your company’s set-up. In the event your activation
link has expired, please request a new one from www.shareworks.solium.com/activate or contact the Participant Services
Group. The text displayed in the image above is an example and this may appear differently based on your company’s set
up.
Step 2
Verify Information
Enter your last name and at least one
identifier to verify your identity. Once you
have entered the information, click
Continue.
Notes:
Depending on your company’s set up,
you may see a different identifier than the
example in the image to verify your
identity under the Enter ONE of the
following heading.

Step 3
Setup Password
Enter your Login Password,
Transaction Password, and Username.
You will need to enter the password for
each of these fields in the Confirm
Password fields. The Login Password
and Transaction Password fields are
required.
The Login Password allows you to login
into your account.
The Transaction Password allows you
to complete transactions for your
account.
The Username field allows you to create
a custom login username.
Click Continue once you are ready to
proceed.
Step 4
Activation Completed
Your Shareworks account is now active.
A screen displays with your account
number and your username, if you
created one. Please write down your
account number and username. You will
also receive a confirmation email with
your account number and your
username, if you created one.
You can log into your Shareworks
account, click Access My Account Now.

Activating your Account with an Activation Code
Step 1
Open Account
Go to
http://Shareworks.solium.com/activate
and select the An account activation
code radio button.

Step 2
Request Account Activation
Enter your Activation Code and the
captcha code you see in the image into
the text box. Your activation code would
have been given you to you by your
company.
Once you have entered an Activation
Code and captcha code, click Continue.
Step 3
Verify Information
Enter your last name and at least one

have entered the information, click
Continue.

Step 4

Enter your Login Password,
Transaction Password, and Username.
You will need to enter the password for

Activating an Account with a Company ID and Password
Step 1
Open Account
Go to
http://Shareworks.solium.com/activate
and select the A company ID and
password radio button.

Step 2
Provide a Company ID and
Password
Enter your Company ID and Password
(case-sensitive) into the fields displayed
on-screen. Enter the captcha code from
the image in the free text box below the
image.
The Company ID and Password will
have been provided to you by your
company. If you do not have this
information, please contact the
Participant Services Group. For more
information on contacting the Participant
Services Group, please proceed to the
th
17 page of the guide.
Once you have entered a Company ID,
Password and captcha code, click
Continue.

Step 3
Enter Your Information
Enter your personal information.
Required fields are denoted with an
asterisk (*).
The required fields will vary based on
your company’s individual set-up and
requirements, but typically, you must
provide the following information:





Name
Employee number, or alternate
identification
Contact details
Address
Personal verification questions
and answers
Multiple Grants Exercise section of this
Ifguide.
you need help with the various sections
of the activation form, you can click the
icon to view additional information.
You may also have the opportunity to
enter your banking information during
your activation process.
If you select Yes, you will be asked to
enter all of your pertinent banking
information on the next screen of the
activation form.
If you select No, you will bypass this step
during your activation process, but you
will have the opportunity to enter your
banking information when you login to
your activated Shareworks account.
Once you have entered all the required
information, click Continue to proceed.

Step 4
Accept the Agreements
Depending on your company’s set-up and requirements, the next few screens will display various agreements such as:


Consent to Electronic Delivery of Tax Slips
W-8/W-9 (as applicable)
Notes:
In order for you to access and use your Shareworks account, you must complete these agreements.
Step 5
Review and Confirm the
Activation Form
The final step in the activation process is
to review and confirm the information you
provided. If there are any errors, this is
your opportunity to go back and correct
the information or add additional details.
Once you are confident in the information
you provided, click Confirm.
Confirmation Number
The last screen of the activation process
provides you with your confirmation
number.
This number is unique to your activation
process. Please keep this number for
future reference.
The confirmation screen will also indicate
if there were any difficulties encountered
with the activation of your account. If
issues were encountered and red text is
displayed, please contact the Participant
Services Group using the contact
information on-screen and provide
Solium with your confirmation number in
order to resolve any outstanding issues.

Step 6
Next Steps
Once your account is successfully activated, you will receive your account number and password letters in the mail (one to
log in and one to transact). For security, your account numbers and passwords will arrive in two separate envelopes.
If you need to access your account prior to receiving your letters, please contact the Participant Services Group.

Logging into Shareworks
The first time you login to your new Shareworks account, there are a few steps you need to complete in order to
access your holdings.
Notes:
The order of the steps you encounter during your initial Shareworks account login may differ from what is represented in this
guide. This guide is only intended as a sample of the screens you may encounter.
Step 1
Access the Website
Visit the website at
www.solium.com/login and enter your
Account Number or Username and
Login Password.
You can also login using your Employee
Number, Stock Symbol, Login
Password, and Exchange if you select
the Employee Number and Stock
Symbol (Participant Only) radio button.
Click Login.
Notes:
If you did not receive your account number or your temporary login password, please contact the Participant Services
Group. The Account Number or Username and Login Password fields may be pre-populated if you activated your
account through an activation link or using an activation code and clicked Access My Account button on the Activated
Completed
screen.

If you activated you account using a Company ID and Password, your account number and your temporary login password
will be mailed to you after you have completed the activation process.

Step 2
Reset Your Temporary Password
You must immediately re-set your
temporary login password.
Follow the prompts on-screen to ensure
your password meets all of the required
criteria.
Note:
You will skip this step if you activated your account through an activation link or using an activation code.
Step 3

Review and Acknowledge Your
Agreements
The next step is to review and
acknowledge various agreements as
they relate to your access in Shareworks.
Depending on your company’s set-up,
you may see various screens including
agreements relating to market data for
various exchanges and your professional
subscriber agreement (used to determine
the security regulations that your trade
must follow when entering the market as
established by applicable regulatory
authorities).
Note:
You must accept the agreements in order to access your Shareworks account.

Step 4
Review Your Holdings
The next step is to review and agree with
the equity award-based holdings in your
Shareworks account. You can choose to
agree or disagree.
Note:
You will skip this step if you are not a member of a Stock Options and Awards plan.
If you disagree, you can send your Plan Administrator a message about any discrepancies. You cannot login until you agree
with your account holdings.

Step 5
Accept Your Grant
If your company has enabled online grant
agreements, you may have to review and
accept your grant. You can choose to
review the agreement, or click Later to
review the agreement at a later date.
Note:
You cannot transact on awards that you have not yet accepted.
Congratulations! You have successfully logged into your account.
