THE S WORD Talking about suicide in the workplace December 12, 2014 Mesa County lost 36 lives to suicide in 2014 These were fathers, husbands, wives, sisters, children 19 of the suicides involved a firearm 28 7 male female Age at time of death ranged from 12 to 77 At any given time, 5% of the workforce is considering suicide The Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation is holding an informational event open to employers and human resources directors. Come and learn about The impact of suicide in the workplace The critical role that employers play in preventing suicide Steps and actions to be taken to prevent suicide How to support overall wellness in the workplace This special event will take place in collaboration with the Western Colorado Human Resources Association featuring keynote speaker Michelle Meuthing, MA, LPC, Executive Director of the Aspen Hope Center. A panel of local employers will offer their experiences and take questions from the audience.
