President’s Message. . .
Spring is a time of rejuvenation and that is certainly true in the case of FCCC this year. There are lots of
things on the go at the centre right now. You’ve probably noticed that the long promised renewal of the
Preschool playground is underway. The project should be completed by the beginning of May. Apologies
for any inconvenience arising from construction but the play area was in serious need of an upgrade and
expansion.
In addition to the playground, a modular extension will be installed soon on the Alder Bay dock, which
should ease some of the congestion there this summer.
In person
at the Centre
starting at 9:00am
A False Creek Community Centre Open House is also in the works. The all-day event will be held
Sunday August 30. There will be program demonstrations, information on programming and services
available at the centre, the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions to the staff and the Board of
Directors, and much, much more. This event is still in the planning stages so stay tuned for more information
both on the website and posted around the centre.

Membership participation is important for any organization and your participation in your community
centre is particularly important. False Creek Community Association is designed to be a member driven
organization. The association operates the community centre in partnership with Vancouver Parks Board.
We need your input to operate effectively. How can you make your voice heard? Attend the Annual
General Meeting and vote for the Board of Directors or consider standing for the Board yourself.
FCCA’s AGM will be on Monday May 11 at 7pm at the centre in Tyee Hall. If you have registered for
a program at FCCC in 2015, you are entitled to vote in the Board elections. The
audited financial statements will also be presented. If you are interested in joining

can: confidently wait at a location, come when called, greet a friendly
person or another dog, be accepting of grooming or handling, sit
