Peterhead “Looking Towards the Future”

Peterhead, which is Aberdeenshire’s largest town with a
population of 18,537, has currently a very successful and
growing economy. This event wants to highlight major
developments that have already been completed which make
Peterhead a prime location for oil and gas, renewables
offshore wind, engineering, fabrication and the food sector.
John Wallace the CEO of Peterhead Port Authority has overseen the merger of the two former ports
along with the £33million Smith Embankment Development. The Peterhead Port Authority are
presently working on the Inner Harbour Deepening and the new Fish Market Development; a
£47million project.
Kari Lurås (CC) is the Project Stakeholder Manager for the Strategic Hywind pilot Park Project which
aims to be the UK’s first floating Wind Park. The Hywind Scotland Pilot Park will comprise five 6MW
floating turbines operating in water exceeding 100M depth and a site in Buchan Deep, approximately
20-30km off the coast of Peterhead.
James Welsh is Energetica’s Development Manager responsible for promoting and delivering the 25
year Energetica Programme. Energetica is a world class development corridor between Aberdeen and
Peterhead which offers exciting investment and growth opportunities for energy, engineering and
technology organisations of all sizes.
