POSITION SUMMARY
The person must be able to project a professional Organizational image through in-person and phone
interaction and will be a full-time member of the Adeso staff, working with the team in Garowe and
other field offices in Somalia, and reports and works closely with the Human Resources Manager.
POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to ensure smooth, efficient and effective day-to-day human resource
administration across Badhan and Bosaso in line with Adeso Human Resource Management and policy
guidelines.

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES










Advertise open positions and handle the recruitment activities of Badhan including interview
arrangement, preparation of appropriate documents and liaising with candidates as instructed.
Inform job applicants of their acceptance or rejection for employment;
Arrange and monitor induction for all Badhan and Bosaso staff;
Maintain the Badhan and Bosaso staff database (currently on Excel) and personnel files;
Inform management of contract end dates, probation dates, Performance Review dates and
ensure contracts database is up-to-date;
Maintain master calendar of training and needs assessments;
Ensure proper close-out, handover and exit procedures for outgoing staff;
Ensure that standard Adeso forms etc. are made available to the field;
Monitor dates relating to balances of annual leave and sickness absence and advise staff
accordingly;
Ensure employee medical records are up-to-date and that arrangements are made for any medical
treatment required. This includes ensuring that staff have current National Hospital Insurance
Funds cards;
Process insurance claims on behalf of staff and ensure that all relevant policies are up-to-date.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS







Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent;
Three years HR/Admin experience with an NGO;
Substantial knowledge of Somalia employment law/labor laws and immigration procedures;
In-depth understanding of HR ethics, including professionalism and confidentiality;
Flexibility and the ability to multi-task, with a willingness to assume a range of unanticipated
assignments;
Excellent IT skills, including experience with MS Word and Excel;
Willingness to travel to all Somalia offices.
