ALABAMA SHRM STATE COUNCIL 2015 Call for Presentations You are invited to submit a proposal to share your knowledge and expertise with human resource professionals at the annual 2015 Alabama SHRM State Conference. This year’s theme is: “Roller Coaster of Love - The Ups and Downs of HR.” The conference will allow others to benefit from your experience while you make a valuable contribution to the profession’s field of knowledge. The Alabama SHRM State Council has a tradition of using its professional development conference as a platform for education and innovation in the field of human resource management. In fact, the 2014 conference was attended by over 550 human resources professionals and 65 professional partner exhibitors. Therefore, we are seeking presenters who are willing to share their expertise in the spirit of networking, a purpose for which SHRM and the Alabama SHRM State Council were founded. 2015 Conference Dates: May 19th & 20th 2015 Conference Location: The Sheraton Hotel Birmingham, Alabama Conference Description: The AL SHRM State Council’s goal is to offer a variety of training and development opportunities for human resource professionals in Alabama and neighboring states. Therefore the Council invites presentations on topics that are appropriate for this audience. Topics should inform attendees about significant issues in human resources. Honorariums/Presenter Reimbursement: The AL SHRM State Council will reimburse reasonable travel expenses and provide a complimentary conference registration in exchange for valuable professional exposure. We will provide basic audio-visual needs (screen, flip chart, LCD projector and lavaliere microphone). In addition, we will provide space in our Speaker / Authors Market to allow you to sell your books, videos and other marketing material. Please note that we do not pay expenses for a copresenters. Submitting Proposals for Consideration: In order to be considered, proposals must be submitted no later than November 19th. Please note if you are requesting a speaker’s fee please be sure to include that with your submittal. Presentation Categories: Labor & Employment Law Recruiting Business & Strategy Strategic Business Compensation & Benefits Training & Development Labor Relations Safety Criteria Used to Consider Presentation Proposals: Is the content appropriate for the conference participants? Will the program qualify for PHR/SPHR/GPHR recertification credit? *To determine if your program qualifies as an acceptable presentation in terms of the HR body of knowledge, visit the Human Resource Certification Institute web site at www.hrci.org. Is the topic timely? Does it reflect current/emerging trends in human resources? Does the session offer tangible tools for implementation? Has this topic been presented recently to HR professionals within the state of Alabama? If so, should it be repeated? Can presentation objectives be achieved within the time frame allotted? Has the topic/speaker received strong evaluations for past presentations? Are professional references available for comment, and are they favorable? Presenters whose proposals are accepted are required to: Respond to all submission deadlines Provide an electronic presentation handout (PPT).
