Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Recognizes an Acadia alumnus who has graduated within the past ten years whose endeavours in professional
research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition, bring
honour to Acadia University.
Nomination Forms should be returned in a sealed envelope to the following location:
Fountain Commons Room #139 (ATTENTION: OONAGH PROUDFOOT)
26 Crowell Drive, Acadia University, Wolfville N.S., B4P 2R6
Applications may include letters of reference and any other supporting materials (such as newspaper
articles, other awards received, etc.)
Nomination Deadline: Noon on May 8, 2015



Criteria for consideration:
Breadth of Involvement: The range, diversity and magnitude of the candidate’s involvement
in, contributions towards, and efforts in support of professional research, civic duty, business,
athletics, the arts, the community or other areas worthy of recognition.
Depth of Involvement: The value and impact of the candidate’s involvement in, contributions
towards, and efforts in support of professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts,
the community or other areas worthy of recognition.
Duration of Involvement: Consideration will be given to the period of time or years of
sustained contributions towards professional research, civic duty, business, athletics, the arts,
the community or other areas worthy of recognition.
Guidelines for Nominations
If you know an Outstanding Young Alumni that you would like to nominate for this award, please submit
the following to the Attention of the AAAU Awards Committee, c/o Oonagh Proudfoot, at the address

A completed copy of this Nomination Form.
A brief summary or letter setting out the nominee’s extraordinary achievements and/or
service.
A copy of the Nominee’s CV. In lieu of a CV, a formal outline of achievements, awards,
education and career accomplishments will be accepted.
A minimum of one (1) additional Support or Reference Letter supporting this nomination
(Max 5 letters of reference);
Any additional supporting documentation you would like included for consideration by
the selection committee (e.g., copies of relevant articles that illustrate the nominee’s
achievements and service).

 Anyone can submit a nomination.
 The time and place of presentation will be determined based on several variables: program
schedule of the Alumni Office; geographical location of recipient.
 Current faculty and/or staff of Acadia University, current members of the Associated Alumni of
Acadia University Board of Directors, and current members of the Acadia University Board of
Governors are not eligible to receive this award.
 To avoid disappointment and to respect the privacy of those consulted, the AAAU keeps
nominations confidential, and we ask that nominators do the same.
