CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Please read all instructions carefully before beginning. 1/4" seam allowance is
included in measurements and all strips are cut across the width of the fabric
unless noted otherwise. Label pieces and keep together until ready to sew.
These instructions are based on unwashed fabrics.
Press toward the darker fabric when assembling.
1.Sew one 3" x 58" Fabric B strip, one 11/2" x 58" Fabric C strip and one
4" x 58" Fabric B strip together lengthwise to make one 71/2" x 58" side
border. Repeat to make a second side border.
2.Sew one 3" x 40" Fabric B strip, one 11/2" x 40" Fabric C strip and one
4" x 40" Fabric B strip together lengthwise to make one 71/2" x 40" top
border. Repeat to make the bottom border.
3.Center one 71/2" x 58" side border on one side of the quilt top and
pin in place.Start sewing the strip 1/4" in from the corner of the quilt
top and stop 1/4" away from the opposite corner. Backstitch at the
beginning and end of stitching. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat
with the opposite side.
4.Repeat Step 3 to sew the 71/2" x 40" top border
and bottom border to the quilt top, making
sure to stop and start 1/4" away from each end
of the quilt top. Backstitch. To miter each corner,
fold the quilt top on the diagonal, wrong sides

together, lining up the strips from adjacent
sides (Figure 1).
5.Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in (Figure 1),
draw a 45° line out to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line.
Trim the excess fabric, leaving a 1/4" seam. Repeat this step with
remaining corners.
Finishing:
6. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Baste the layers together.
7. Quilt as desired.
8. Trim layers even with the quilt top.
9.Sew the 21/2" x 42" binding strips together end-to-end with 45º seams
to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong
sides together and press. Bind as desired.
Finished size of table runner: approximately 25" x 71"
A. Pattern #23617 – MUL1 (panel):
1. Fussy cut the panel to measure 231/2" x 421/2".
B. Pattern #23618 – MUL1 (border stripe):
1. Fussy cut four 4" x length of fabric (63") strips centered on the
flowers. Trim to to make two 4" x 58" strips and two 4" x 40" strips.
2. Fussy cut four 3" x length of fabric (63") strips centered on the
leaves. Trim to make two 3" x 58" strips and two 3" x 40" strips.
C. Pattern #23622 – MUL1 (swirls):
1. Cut two 11/2" x 40" strips
2. Cut three 11/2" x 42" strips. Sew the
strips together and trim to make
two 11/2" x 58" strips.

RUNNER 1. Fussy cut two strips centered on the flowers 4" x 73".
2. Fussy cut two strips centered on the flowers 4" x 27".
PLACEMATS 1. Fussy cut eight strips centered on the leaves 3" x 27".
2. Fussy cut eight strips centered on the leaves 3" x 19".
C. Pattern #23624 – BRO1 (berries):
RUNNER 1. Cut two 21/2" x 233/4" strips.
2. Cut one 2" x 42" strip. Sub-cut into two

A. Corner Units Triangles:
1.Place one 23/8" Fabric D square on top of one 23/8" Fabric F square,
right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square.
Sew 1/4" away from each side of the drawn diagonal line. Cut the two
squares apart on the drawn diagonal line to make two D/F units
(Fig. 1). Trim dog ears. Repeat to make thirty-two 2" D/F half-squaretriangle units.
