Dear Sponsor, In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the Autism Society of Central Illinois (ASCI) will hold the annual “Take a Step for Autism” Walk on Saturday, April 25, 2015. The walk is held to promote awareness about autism and to raise funds for ASCI. All funds generated from this event benefit individuals from Springfield and surrounding communities. As a result of the generosity of our 2014 walk sponsors, ASCI was able to provide “Camp Aspire” social skills summer program, as well as grant monies and support group meetings for families. Funds raised from the walk also enabled the group to hold Santa Meet and Greet, Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween party, Henson- Robinson zoo event, sensory-friendly movies, skating, bowling and swimming events. Adaptations were made to these special events to ensure that children with autism would be able to experience the same joys of childhood as their peers. ASCI would like to thank donors for making all of this possible. ASCI needs your help in order to continue to provide programming for children in our community. The CDC estimates that 1 in 68 children have autism which makes it the fastest growing developmental disability and one that requires community support and intervention. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that operates solely on fundraisers, donations and the time and effort of our volunteers. We would like to continue to provide the aforementioned programs as well as others that are currently in development. Everyday tasks and activities that are easy for most of us can present significant challenges for families of children with autism. Your generosity will help us to provide necessary supports to these families and all proceeds generated from this event will stay exclusively in Central Illinois. Please see the attached page for information on various sponsorship levels and how those particular funds will be used by ASCI.
