IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. Context: Under overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) the overall guidance of the Head of Hub (HoH) in Erbil, and the direct supervision of the Senior Operations Officer in coordination with the Clinical Psychologist the incumbent(s) is responsible: Core Functions / Responsibilities: 1. Direct and oversee IOM Dohuk Operations staff including escorts and ensure staff complies with Departure Planning, Post Departure and Staff Travel regulations. 2. Manage and supervise all activities and staff, providing oversight and support to ensure consistently high-quality work; liaise closely with Dohuk Satellite and office Erbil Hub for the movement of IDPs/refugees. 3. Organize for cultural orientation and psychosocial support session’s related to logistical and operational aspects. 4. Coordinate with the Emergency Project Assistant on all related emergency movements. 5. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local authorities and camp managers on issues related to IDP, refugee and migrant movements. 6. Counsel IDPs and refugees, contact them, advice on their movement and travel arrangements. 7. Prepare all related documents for IDPs travelling to Germany. 8. Represent the Movement Unit and contribute to meetings as requested (provide unit updates, problems and solutions). 10. Undertake duty travel to Germany as required. 11. Perform any other duties you may be assigned. Languages Fluent in Kurdish/Arabic and working knowledge of English.
