Special events this month
Leek Arts Festival makes May a busy month. BV will have its usual
stand at Art in the Park, working with youngsters but also talking to
adults about our work. Additionally, we’re being supported via a Male
Voice Choir concert. Mental Health Awareness Week also falls in May
& with other partners we’ve a full day of activities at the Foxlowe.
Writers visit the SW Peak
On a glorious spring day, the writing group did a spur-of-the-moment
visit to Pam’s ‘stone caravan’.
This will inspire further
contributions
to
the
SW
Peak
Landscape
Partnership. BV writers
were among the first
contributors
to
their
earlier ‘Just 5 Words’
project.

Writing but fortunately have some money in
reserve until Andy can apply for a grant.
Borderland Voices
HealthFair, 1 of 51 Community Interest
Companies raising money to address health
inequalities across England, Scotland & Wales
through The Health Lottery, funds Creative
Space.
Pam Sandiford facilitates Creative Writing (Tuesday morning);
this very supportive group welcomes anyone interested in words.
Tuesday p.m. Creative Space is a chance to experiment. We’ve 2
(of 3) workshops with Cathie, inspired by William Morris & the Arts
& Crafts Movement, free-&-easy collage (Andy) at the Foxlowe &
a catch-up session at the end of the month.
No DIY sessions this month because of Art in the Park & Mental
Health Awareness Day.

MAY 2015
Wetley Rocks Male Voice Choir are supporting us on 16th
May with a concert at Trinity Church. BV will receive all raffle
proceeds. (Anything non-alcoholic for a prize hamper welcomed.)
Spread the word about Mental Health Awareness Day on
12th at the Foxlowe. Workshops, music, therapies, info etc.
BV Home Base supported by:
BV has arranged the Art & Craft sessions at Daisy Haye,
Pennybank House, John Hall Gardens and Biddulph.
They’re open to anyone.

at Art in the Park (Sat/Sun 16th/17th May).
Rebecca Done’s free luncheon club (last Thursday each
month), open to all over-60s, includes entertainment & is a
relaxing event.
