FABRIC REQUIREMENTS 7/8 yard (80 cm) pink main (C3270 Pink) ½ yard (50 cm) white main (C3270 White) ¼ yard (20 cm) aqua scallops (C3272 Aqua) 1/8 yard (10 cm) green scallops (C3272 Green) 3/8 yard (30 cm) pink scallops (C3272 Pink) 3/8 yard (30 cm) green stripe (C3274 Green) 1/8 yard (10 cm) gray floral (C3275 Gray) ¾ yard (70 cm) green leaves (C3276 Green) 1/8 yard (10 cm) red leaves (C3276 Red) Binding 5/8 yard (60 cm) Backing 2¾ yards (2.5 m) CUTTING REQUIREMENTS Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Star Block Cut 9 squares 4½” x 4½” from white main (fussy cut) Cut 24 squares 2½” x 2½” from aqua scallops Cut 16 squares 2½” x 2½” from green scallops Cut 16 squares 2½” x 2½” from gray floral Cut 16 squares 2½” x 2½” from red leaves Cut 36 rectangles 2½” x 4½” from green leaves Cut 36 squares 2½” x 2½” from green leaves Posts and Sashing Cut 4 squares 1½” x 1½” from aqua scallops Cut 6 squares 1½” x 1½” from green scallops Cut 3 squares 1½” x 1½” from gray floral Cut 3 squares 1½” x 1½” from red leaves Cut 24 rectangles 1½” x 8½” from green leaves 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Flying Geese Units. Sew a Flying Geese Unit to each side of a white main 4½” square. Sew a green leaves 2½” square to each side of the 2 remaining Flying Geese Units. Sew the 3 rows together to complete the Star Block. Repeat to make 9 Star Blocks. Flying Geese Unit Star Block Posts and Sashing Refer to quilt photo for post placement. Sew an assorted print 1½” square to a green leaves 1½ x 8½” rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 4 square posts and 3 sashing rectangles. Make 4 rows labeled A. Sashing and Blocks Refer to quilt photo block placement. Sew a green leaves 1½ x 8½” rectangle to a Star Block. Repeat to make a row with 4 sashing rectangles and 3 blocks. Make 3 rows labeled B. Quilt Center Assembly See quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt. Borders Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first. Border 1 Side borders should be 28½”. Top and bottom borders should be 32½”. Border 1 Cut 4 strips 2½” x WOF from pink scallops Border 2 Side borders should be 32½”. Top and bottom borders should be 36½”. Border 2 Cut 4 strips 2½” x WOF from green stripe Border 3 Side borders should be 36½”. Top and bottom borders should be 46½”. Border 3 Cut 5 strips 5½” x WOF from pink main QUILT ASSEMBLY Refer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics and blocks. Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Little Red Riding Hood Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt. Star Block These instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to the Star Block diagram for piece placement as each block is a different combination of fabrics. Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of an assorted print 2½” square. Place the assorted print square in the corner of a green leaves 2½” x 4½” rectangle and sew on the line.
