The Illinois International Business Calendar is a collaborative effort among the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago
(ITA/GC), the Office of Trade and Investment of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), and the
Illinois District Export Council (IDEC), on behalf of the U.S. Commercial Service Chicago. The Calendar is also available on the

February 2015 Trade Statistics Now Available: The U.S. Census Bureau has just released the February 2015
merchandise trade data on USA Trade Online: http://usatrade.census.gov.
India Streamlines Import and Export Documents to Improve Business Climate. According to the
Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report, the government of India has announced that as of April 1 it will reduce
to three each the number of documents required for imports and exports of goods. A press release from the
Ministry of Commerce and Industry states that this change should reduce transaction costs and expedite shipments
and thus help improve India’s ranking in the “trading across borders” category of the World Bank’s “Ease of Doing
Business” report, where India most recently placed 126th of 189 countries. The three mandatory documents for
exports are now bill of lading/airway bill, commercial invoice cum packing list, and shipping bill/bill of export.

SECOND JAPAN-U.S. DECOMMISSIONING AND REMEDIATION [FUKUSHIMA RECOVERY
FORUM]. Organized under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade
Administration (ITA), with the support of the U.S. Department of Energy, this will be a forum for
U.S. and Japanese firms to make contacts while sharing experiences, expertise, and lessons learned
in remediation and decommissioning, including work underway at Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear
Power Station, and in Tohoku, the area affected by the accident at Fukushima. ITA is seeking the

Africa and Ghana, with an optional stop in Cote d'Ivoire. Department of Commerce is partnering
with the Department of State’s EducationUSA Advising Centers. This trade mission is designed to
be led by a senior Department of Commerce official and the emphasis will be on U.S. higher
education, focusing on, in order of importance, community colleges, undergraduate and graduate
