Plenty of handholding and a ratio of 4 shredders to 1 staff member will provide opportunities for lifelong learning and a strong early development of skateboarding skills. Little Shredders must bring their own skateboards in working order (penny skateboards are not necessarily the best, it’s better to have a full skateboard deck with double ended tails and grip tape on it). Please bring a snack and water for breaks and wear sunblock. Mandatory for all shredders to have proper fitting skateboard helmet, elbow pads, kneepads, and wrist guards to be worn at all times. Tai Chi strengthens and mobilizes joints and muscles, improving physical fitness and mental relaxation. It is especially suitable as a therapy for chronic conditions because its movements are slow and gentle and the level of exertion can be adjusted to suit each person’s physical condition. The Tai Chi for Energy form is safe and easy to learn. It blends two traditional Tai Chi styles. Chen style is vigorous, utilizing spiral movement or “silk reeling”. Sun style includes unique qigong movements and breathing with agile stepping patterns. These two seemingly contrasting styles of tai chi have complementary internal energy. The result is a gentle, relaxing, and invigorating exercise. Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothes and flat shoes suitable for exercise.
