GREATER WESTERN OHIO CONFERENCE Middle School Track and Field Championships Vandalia-Butler High School Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 GATES OPEN: Wednesday, May 6th, at 3:30 p.m. COACHES MEETING: Wednesday, May 6th, at 4:15 p.m. STARTING TIMES: Field Events - 4:30p.m. MEET MANAGEMENT: Eric Spahr, Commissioner, 865/686-6848. Entries completed online at www.finishtiming.com Direct all entry and registration questions send to: Mike Chatfield at mike@finishtiming.com . All substitutions are due by 12:00p.m. on the day of the meet to mike@finishtiming.com. NOTE: Scratches only at the meet (no substitutions or adds). This applies to running and field events. STARTING BLOCKS: Will be provided. AWARDS: Presented to the top 8 finishers in each event, for each group. CAMPS: Team camps may be placed under the home bleachers or on the visiting bleachers. Please keep your camp areas clean! CONCESSIONS: A full concession stand will be available. COACHES AREAS: Coaches areas will be designated in all field events. WARM-UPS: Athletes are not permitted to use the football field for warm-ups. A designated warm-up area will be available. Coaches are not permitted on the field and must adhere to the designated coaching areas. EVENT ENTRIES: Each school is limited to 2 participants for each event and 1 relay team. There will be a random draw by the meet director and meet manager for order in field events and lane assignments. The better athletes for each school’s entry will be in the second position for each event. Relay lane assignments will be strictly a random draw. SCORING: Each event will be scored 8 places: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. GENERAL GUIDELINES: The meet will be ran as 1 meet and scored as a North and South group. BUS PAKRING: Athletes will be dropped off at the stadium. Buses will then exit the stadium lot (north lot) and park behind Butler High School near the baseball field (south lot). GWOC APPAREL SALES: Championship t-shirts will be available for $16.00. All proceeds go to help offset the cost of the track and field meet. RAIN DATE: In the event of cancellation the meet will be rescheduled for Saturday, May 9th, 2015, 5:00p.m. Running Events - 5:00p.m. GREATER WESTERN OHIO CONFERENCE Middle School Track and Field Championships Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 ORDER of EVENTS: The order of running events will be per the OHSAA. All running events are run as finals. The 800 and 1600 will have alley starts. The order of field events will be as follows: Discus Shot Put Long Jump (open pit by division) High Jump Pole Vault 2 flights by grouping, 4 throws each athlete. The boys will throw first followed by the girls; order will be North followed by South. All weighed in implements will become common in the throwing events. Meet management may adjust as necessary. 2 flights by grouping, 4 throws each athlete. The girls will throw first followed by the boys; order will be North followed by South. All weighed in implements will become common in the throwing events. 2 flights by grouping, 4 jumps each athlete. The boys will jump first followed by the girls; order will be North followed by South All groupings jump together and the groups will be scored from results. The girls will jump first followed by the boys. All groupings will vault together and the groups will be scored from the results. Meet management will determine order based upon entries.
