PRESIDENT’S
Umina v The Entrance
MESSAGE
Col Gooley Field
Kincumber v Berkeley Vale
Mackillop Oval
It is disappointing that once again we have
to remind clubs in regards to the Code
Toukley v Central Wyong
of Conduct, especially in regards to the
Darren Kennedy Oval
Referees.
Terrigal v Woy Woy
Duffys Road Oval
Over the past couple of rounds we have
Northern Lakes v Erina
had numerous complaints and hearings in
Gumbuyah Oval
regards to this matter.
Ourimbah v Wyong
I would ask that all players and officials take
Sohier Park
heed of this warning so as such behaviour is
taken under control.
Best of luck to all teams.
Regards,
Joe Smith
CCDRL President

1st grade - With Head coach Marc Matthews away with the central coast under 18’s rep side and leaving

performance was outstanding. To keep up both our attack and defence under the circumstances was a
courageous effort by all. Everyone in the team was standout, but after backing up from Reserve Grade
Nathan Besgrove in his first grade debut game was awarded Players Player and the 3 points. In all a
great team effort and thanks to our supporters on the day, I’m sure they enjoyed the game.
Reserve grade – last week we took on Kincumber and came out winners. After a few weeks of
winning lead up games the team were primed for a big game, the boys were eager to take on a side of
similar caliber. Kincumber are a big physical side attacking right from the start but Erina were on game
and our defence was outstanding as we kept Kincumber scoreless at games end. If we can keep the
enthusiasm, commitment and hunger up we will be very hard to beat.
Ladies tag – awesome game to the girls against Kincumber even though the result wasn’t in our
favour. The girls dug deep with only one fit reserve and remained calm and composed throughout the
game. You girls are an extremely talented team and the club are very proud of you.
Under 19s – back on the park after yet another bye. The boys going down to Kincumber but are sure
to pick back up again this week against Woy Woy.

CENTRAL COAST OZ TAG LADIES TAG- Rd 4(washout): Another outstanding effort by all in an 18-0 win over Erina.
Great defence. Some try saving tags, none better than the one from our Captain Nerida, The Flying Warhorse, onto the
cricket pitch where she left half a leg of skin. 1 try in a tight first half to Molly. Then 1 try each to Riley, Bec and Jayme
in the Second half. Straight running draw and pass with support inside and out was great to watch. Great Job girls and
looking forward to another tough encounter with The Entrance. Players Player and 2 points went to Kirrily Curran. And
another hard decision was made to give 1 point to Molly, Shaz, Racheal and Peta.
PLATEAU TREES U/19’s – Rd 4(washout): Anyone who attended the Plateau Tree Services U/19’s at Erina was
treated to a fantastic display of footy with great defence, power running & plenty of skill. Our On Constructions forward
pack led the way today supporting each other with the ball, off the ball and putting in some cracking defensive efforts.
They were not outplayed as our RGH Consulting ¾ line put on a display of speed, agility and outstanding scrambling
defence while goal kicker Blake Wylie had a grand day out potting 4 from 5 from the sideline.
We shut off for a 10 minute period following an alleged lifting tackle from our form hooker Mitchell Shoults which caused
quite a fracas on the field. This normally gets us going however it had an adverse affect and with only 12 men the momentum went to the Eagles who made a 28-4 score line look more respectable finishing 28-16. Captain Bryce Davey
finally gained control of his side and we settled down for an arm wrestle in the final 10 minutes.
On Constructions Players Player was Rhys Sheriff. Plateau Tree Services 3 points to Blake Wylie.
RGH Consulting 2 points to Jarrod Hull and Rhys Sheriff. Kustom Xcavation 1 point to James Methven, Mitchell Clark
& Josh Richardson.
This week we are back home against The Entrance in a top of the table clash.

Sharks NEWS
The Sharks played The Entrance Tigers and despite only winning one game of
R
LEAGUGBY
the day, there were plenty of positives to come out of the defeats.
UE
The Sharks Under Nineteens played some of their toughest rugby league
of the season in defeating the Tigers 32 - 6 after leading 12 - 6 at the break. The
Sharks dominated it defence in the first half and this laid the foundation for their victory. Best for the
Sharks was Scott Drinkwater who again led the side around the park an crossed for a four pointer, the
two points went to Jed Ambrose who gave good service to his side and got through plenty of defence
while the one point and Players Player award went to Jake Gouw who made some tough meters and
was involved in some big hits. Jarrett Boland received the Coaches Award with another strong display.
The Sharks Open age side returned to the paddock after a months layoff and played what can only
be described as a disgraceful first half. The second half was a great improvement only being defeated
three tries to two with a lot more commitment in defence. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was
Matt Ferns who gave direction to the attack when the Sharks finally got some ball, the two points went
to new recruit Corey Wheeler who showed enough to say he wont be opens for long while the one point
went to Tom Spackman who made plenty of meters in attack. The Coaches Award went to Josh Steele
who tried hard especially when the Sharks had no possession.
The Sharks Ladies League Tag side were defeated 38 - 6 by a Tigers side bristling with class but
not before the Sharks played their best half of the season to be only trailing 10 - 6 at the break after a
Rachel Dobbie try and Brittany Starr conversion. A couple of quick tries after the break did the damage
to the Sharks as the heads went down and they couldn’t recover. Best for the Sharks and co-winner of
the Players Player award was Brittany Starr who continues to impress with her commitment to the game,
the two points and co-winner of the Players Player award was Shannon Higgins who was in the thick of
the action all match while the one point was shared between the Sharks two flyers Paige Goodhand and
Rachel Dobbie. The Coaches Award went to Maddi Symington who did all the little things right.
The Sharks Reserve grade side were defeated by the Tigers 14 - 10 in what was their best
display of the season despite being beaten. The Sharks trailed 8 - 0 at the break but scored two tries
through Mitch Johnson and Chad Goodhand to take a 10 - 8 lead until a late try to the Tigers sealed
victory.Best for the Sharks was Ari Van Putten who again ran strongly and made plenty of meters around
the rucks, the two points went to Adam McAlister who again gave his all in attack and defence while
the one point was shared between Dillon Selby who also got the Players Player award and just keeps
competing and Mitch Green who drove the Sharks attack and also received the Coaches Award..
The Sharks first grade side were defeated by the Tigers 23 - 10 after trailing 18 - 10 at the
break. The Sharks made too many mistakes while in possession and gave the team too much defensive practise to make a serious second half challenge. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was the
consistent Bladen Baird who again got through a mountain of work in attack and defence, the two points
went to Josh Harman who made plenty of meters in attack and was safe in defence, the one point went
to Jordan Deaves who was again strong around the rucks while the Coaches Award went to Chad Sharp
who gave some quality ball and was solid in defence.

Another top day of footy action seen our Razorbacks play Woy Woy last Sunday.
The noise from the Grandstand was deafening. If you didn’t know better you’d think it
was Suncorp Stadium on a Wednesday night with a State of Origin game on.
The footy was nearly as good as the singing from several Australian Idol hopefuls at the Razorbacks karaoke night at the Royal Hotel.
Andrew Foody sand and sang and sang some more. He sang so much that he could barely walk home
on Sunday night. His boy Al Foody also was a hit on the dance floor and where hopeful that some of
footwork on display on the dance floor will be displayed on the field this Sunday.
Our Under 19’s had a tough preparation with several players unavailable due to the long weekend along
with a few injuries. But they once again dug in and had a go all game. A couple of great tries by Harry
Hill seen him rewarded with a couple of points from the Referee. Woy Woy were just a little too good on
the day.
2nd Grade was a very tightly contested game for most of the match until a bit of fatigue and some unfortunate calls going against them
swung the momentum Woy Woys way for them to record a victory. It

take the victory from our gallant troops.

Magpies NEWS
The Metaland 1st grade played Berkeley Vale on Sunday hoping to bounce back from
our last start loss, but once again we fell short going down 26 - 13. We scored first and
I thought we controlled the half well and were the better side going into the break 7 - 4 up.
But in the 2nd half; after getting into a winning postion, we fell into the same bad old
habits giving away penalties at crucial times; putting ourselves under way too much pressure - giving the
opposition field position and another set of six . In the end we had to do too much tackling and Berkeley
Vale were good enough to take their chances and put us away. Our goal from now on is to cut out our
silly penalties late in tackle counts and give ourselves a chance to finishing off teams . It will come - we
just need to stay positive and keep working hard. 3pts and players player went to Chris Trembath who
continues to show his teammates the way in another big game from him , 2pts went to Channarath Ly
who had a great game at fullback , he’s field positioning and footwork is a pleasure to watch , 1pt was
shared between Chris Alipate and Corey Bayley who both had great games in defence and the coaches
award went to David Settle who continues to impress on our left wing. Also welcome back to Ourimbah,
Mitchell Coombs after his 3 year stint at Erina. It wasn’t a good day for our Club going down in all grades
so we will all be looking forward to this weekends game v Central Wyong and back into the winners list.
Cheers Marto.

1st Grade – Wyong 38 - Warriors 18
as such are not the views held by the CCDRL.
A great day for footy and as usual the Warriors faithful turned out in numbers to support all teams. The Warriors
started strongly and raced to an 8-0 lead thanks to tries from Mike & Badge and we were looking good. Wyong
fought back leading into 1/2 time and with a good conversion from the sideline the Roos went to the sheds
ahead 10-8. The break did us no good and Wyong started well and quickly put a couple of more tries on the
board before we clicked into gear and reduced the margin to 20-18 thanks to tries by Rowdy and Matt. We piled
on the pressure but an unfortunate bounce from a Wyong drop out saw them race down field and kick away
again. The Roos finished strongly and added another 2 tries to run out winners on the day. Players Player and
Gibbo Medal Winner was Ovey, whilst Scott, Shaan, Mike, Barts & Bluey all played strongly.
Tries – Mike, Badge, Rowdy & Matt. Goals Ovey x 1. Big thanks to our loyal supporters, the encouragement
from the sideline certainly lifts the boys when needed. TIMOTH.
2nd Grade – Wyong 66 - Warriors 14
We started the game like a well drilled unit, completing our first 3 sets and leading to our 1st try. At 4-0 up boys
in the 1st 10 mins how good was it ? As a dear friend of mine said ‘It was like you were all abducted by aliens
and they took your places, having never played football before.’(We all know what happened for that spell). You
were returned to me in the 2nd half and played like a team of winners. This proves what we are capable of. No
abductions this week & lets come up with a win. PP & Gibbo Medal winner – Daniel with points also going to
Bulge and Coen. Thanks to Macca, Millsy, Johnno and Shaneo for backing up.
Tries, Beery, Travis & Coen. Goals Douggo x 1
Thanks – Ken
Ladies – Wyong 42 - Warriorettes 4.
It was a promising start with Sara going over early on to take us to the lead. Unfortunately from there things
didn’t go to plan and the Wyong ladies proved to strong on the day running out comfortable winners with the
highlight being a faultless goal kicking display from their kicker. The girls tried hard to the end and I’m sure with
a bit of rustiness blown away we will improve this week. PP & Gibbo Medal winner = Lauren Mcauley,, whilst
Ebony, Claire and Wendy played strongly. Wishing both Annie & Georgia speedy recoveries from nasty ankle
injuries both suffered on the day. Thanks - Liz Ellis
Opens – Wyong 32 – Warriors 22
An entertaining game of footy with plenty of good tries involving a lot of skill (reminded me of my days in my own
country). The scoreline fluctuated with the Roos skipping away early in the 2nd half before the Warriors fought
back and were right in the game until a late try sealed it for Wyong. Everyone played strongly with Johnno,
Coen, Diez and Jarrod leading the way. Lets turn it around with a win this week to get us back on track.
PP & Gibbo Medal winner = Johnno. Tries Diez, Johnno, Coen & Johnnie. Goals Millsy x 3.
Than you Intikhab Alam.
Lets all get back to the Bowlo after the game today, there will be
a presentation of Players Player medals in honour of Gibbo for all 4 grades.

Tigers NEWS
1st Grade Report
The Central Coast Cleaning Contractors Tigers took on the Terrigal Sharks in a mouth
-watering clash that we had looked forward to since the round 4 washout. After a good
week at training the boys started off well and scored early when Logan Granger, who
was making his first grade debut scored from dummy half and Perry LeBrocque added the extras for an
early 6 nil lead. In a match that pitted 2 good attacking and defensive sides against each other, the game
was an arm wrestle for much of the half. On the Tigers 2nd visit to the Sharks 20m zone we scored again
off a move that put big Timmy 1 on 1 with a defender and the big fella was never going to be stopped and
he crashed over for his 5th try in 4 games. The Sharks began to build pressure and were eventually able
to score off a deft grubber kick. This gave them some confidence and they were in again to cut the deficit
to 2 points. Some solid defence gave us some good field position and our 2 halves, Adam McInnes and
Jack Ellison combined to score right on halftime to give us an 18-10 halftime lead. The 2nd half was a
real arm wrestle with both teams having opportunities for points but some last ditch efforts in defence
prevented any points until Jack Ellison had a perfectly placed grubber pounced on by Rob Gudgeon who
in turn flicked back inside to Shaune Corrigan who scored the only points of the 2nd half for the Tigers
to lead 22-10. A field goal with 10 minutes to go capped an impressive 23-10 win and with a few results
going our way, has us on top of the ladder. It was hard to single out anyone for points as we had a great
team performance but Adam McInnes who was playing against his old club for the first time got the 3
points after controlling the game and attack and getting through a mountain of defence. 2 points went to
the debutant Logan Granger, who had one of the best first grade debuts I have ever seen for the club
and 1 point each for Brad Chatfield, Josh Walsh and Nathan Cooper who were solid all round for 80
minutes. A special thanks to all past and present players for attending our annual old boys day, the boys
appreciate playing in front of a great crowd.
Reserve Grade Report
The GTL Rapid Clean Reserve Grade Tigers faced off against Terrigal in what proved to be a very physical battle. We started the game poorly completing only 2 of our first 6 sets of six. Once we were able to
control the footy we were rewarded with some points and went into the half time break with an 8 - 0 lead.
In the second half we really struggled to gain good field position and in turn spent plenty of time defending our own line. Terrigal took advantage of their field position and responded with two tries. Trailing 10-8
with about 12 mins to go we were forced to dig deep. A smart play from dummy half Tyler Webb saw us
score and hang on to win 14-10. Best for the Tigers were Mitch Dafter, Tyler Webb and Harley Waters.
Open Age Report
The Treasury Wine Estates Open Aged Team had a good win against a Terrigal team that never stopped
trying. It was good to get back on the winners list and with two byes in the next two weeks it came at a
good time. Points this week went to Burro, Blackie and Drew Little 1 point each. 2 points went to Roger
Ferruci who worked hard all day and took us forward when we needed it, and 3 points went to Tim King
who scored 2 tries and is getting better every week.
Under 19s Report
The Pallister Promotions Under 19’s, sitting in equal first with Erina’ the boys have really eased up on the
charge which and each week has slowly got closer to a loss surely enough this has happened. Playing a
great outfit in the Terrigal 19’s our boys simply got bamboozled and panic stations sent us home with our
first loss of the season. Without much else to say we have a massive week at training this week and will
be ready for a great clash against Kincumber the boys and I know that everything is fixable and surely
will be with an attitude change and our great mateship which led us to all our early round wins. Best on
the day was Piggy, Matena, Browny, Zack and Ethan cheers. Jurdy

Bunnies NEWS
Last week saw the Umina Bunnies take on the might of the Toukley
Hawks @ Col Gooley Oval.
Our Ladies League Tag put on another polished display once again. Seeing them run out convincing winners over the Toukley girls who should be applauded for their effort and being
part of a great spectacle introduced this year by the Division. Lets hope it remains on the fixture for Sunday games well into the future.
Over all the Umina Bunnies were down on troops due to a massive injury toll heading into the battle with Toukley
Hawks, but once again the guys “RALLIED” and fielded both grade teams and done the club PROUD with their
representation of the bunnies. It does not go unnoticed by the Committee and coaching staff, the commitment shown
by “every” player within the playing roster at the “Bunnies” and is truly appreciated by all.
Although the competition ladder in Reserve Grade does not say we are on top but you can rest assured you guys are
on top as far as we are concerned, keep plugging along guys you will get rewards in the end.
Our first grade took the battle to the hawks throughout the game and in the end won the war in what was another
gallant effort from a much depleted squad due to injury. The teams performance on the paddock was nothing short of
heroic throughout the contest and once again it goes without saying nothing goes unnoticed by all and sundry down
at the “Warren”.
Thanks to all of the players and coaches for the effort shown. And a HUGE mention to those ladies who week in
week out just turn up and get the job done by way of canteen, bbq, beershed etc, etc, your efforts are second to none.
Keep tuned for some very exciting times ahead for all supporters......sponsors....coaches....players....?????
