Adventures in Alice Programming Workshop for High School Teachers South Carolina • Summer 2015 Alice is an object-oriented programming language that is used to create 3-D animations. It has been designed to make object-oriented programming easier to teach and learn and also to attract a larger, more inclusive audience to programming and eventually to careers in a computer field. Teaching Alice in a first computer programming course provides students with a positive experience with computing and programming making these students more likely to choose a computing major and to succeed in their college degree program. Alice is made freely available by its creators at Carnegie Mellon University. For more information about Alice, visit www.alice.org.
